Totally Off The Wagon
JIllette replied to deedeemuffin's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Think about the big picture and how far you have come. You have to find another way to deal with your stress. I understand you under stress I too fall apart and plan to conquer it by developing a new way of dealing. Take one day at a time, one meal at a time and keep faith you will get through this consider this a test. -
I am nervous I have had 5 low blood sugars during my reduction diet that forced me to eat something. I am praying it does not affect the outcome. The positive side my insulin levels keep lowering and I am down 10 lbs. My big day is Thursday.

I am finding now I am on the reduction diet feelings of weakness and lightheadedness on and off. I keep testing my blood sugars and find I am in normal range. I am finding the diabetes a challenge had to stray off diet 3x only to treat a low blood sugar but got right back on board.

I think it is time for you and your husband to have a long serious talk. I would also for your childs sake consider marriage counseling to help you guys get back on track. Marriage in itself is work in progress sometimes. My husband and I went through marriage counseling ourselves 2x and have been married now 18. As for the possible drug issue that needs addressing especially with having a small child. Good luck.

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
JIllette replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Mine is health reasons I have been diabetic since I was 17 years old and was overweight in high school. My mother was overweight for many years with diabetes and suffered many complications she did lose the weight when she was ill. I lost her to diabetes in 1997 and I still miss her to this day she was the best mother one can have. I now have a 13 year old with special needs who needs me to be healthy for her. I always put myself last and fall apart during times of stress and feel i am the support for others and not on the recieving end at times, maybe because I am a Social Worker. I was told by my doctor that if I do not lose the weight and get a grip on my diabetes I am 5 years away from complications so i have to put myself first and get healthy. I too have been through the humilitation of not fitting in certain booths at resteraunts. At my child's meet the teachers night I could not sit behind the desks like they wanted us parents to I had to kneel in the chair hoping they would not notice. -

My surgery is on the 11th. -
Cyndi same here my sugars were up and down for the past year like I got tired of it. My job is very stressful and I have a young teen with special needs going through a hard time I kept putting myself last Until Now. Then I did you what did I went wild during the process knowing one reduction starts no going back. I am ready to move forward now. Thank you both of you. I was also thinking the symptoms are my body adjusting.

Mentor needed! 7 days until sleeve!
JIllette replied to Triple H's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I went to a support group meeting where I live and was told there is a book out the title. Emotional First Aid Kit written by author Cynthia Alexander PSJD. It is supposed to help with the transition. I plan to purchase along with 1-2 bariatric cookbooks to help me. -

Triple H I too have only 7 days 6 from today. The reduction thing is a challenge I agree especially with a family. What i did a couple of times was one night I went to bed early to be good and during the day I left the house kept busy. I find work days are easier for me no time to eat or think about food too busy. -
