    Feeling full?

I also have the burp thing but I think that is induced myself, I also feel pain as if I swollowed a rock. right at the back of my spine, Initially I could only eat about 1 oz but now about double or more, but when I feel pain or discomfort I just stop irrespective of how much is still on my plate, Strage I can consume 4oz of fluid in about 20 mins without a problem. Im only 1 month out and did also feel I would starve due to the severve restriciton initially in the first 2 weeks. Had great weight loss then and have now lost about 15kg in a month,

    July 2013 Sleevers

This is normal, it takes up to 2 weeks to feel you have enough energy again. Things only get better from here on.

    July 2013 Sleevers

I know exactly what you are talking about. I have resorted to juicing watermelon as it is not as sweet as other fruit juices and gives lots of fluid. I cant do too sweet anymore and also not water as it just is not nice. I have also taken to tomato cocktail. I love the taste and as I found it too expensive, I get tomato puree and dilute it with ice cold water, a dash of salt and peper as well as some tobasco only a hint and that goes down well. Have you thought of juicing carrots etc? Good luck.
  4. Every day is a blessing and a day closer to goal, so much better than the years and years of losing and gaining the same weight year after year -now it is going for ever!

Hi there, chin up, I think you will be fine. Congrats on the weight loss it is great and will only keep going. You do not need unsupportive people in your life, medical or otherwise. All they check up now is that you do not develop defficiencies and your GP can do that for you.Wish I was as far out as you but will only be 1 month on the 23rd but 30 lb down.

    Left overs = happy dogs

Oh I know guys, I have resorted to buying baby bell cheese, as they are small, little low fat processed cheese wedges, and slices of smoked turkey as I can then freeze and take out individual portions. I am concerned about the vertual starvation mode that we are all in and pop a few almonds in my very, very small lunch box in order to keep my matabolism on the go. For fruit, I have bananna as I can still save some of it when it is cut in short pieces, as long as this is done when the skin in on and the skin stays on, then only the ends discolor and I just remove it, still a loss but less. Blue berries are also one of my standby fruits as they keep very well in the fridge. I have also found that if I buy my yoghurts and freeze them, I eat them as they defrost and that is just the right pace to keep discomfort at bay. The dogs are lucky, as the food would just have been making us fatter. In my many attempts to loose before, a hypnotherapist told me that the food that one eats once nurtitional needs are met is just wasted, you either throw it in the bin and waste it, or use your body as this bin, its all waste, but now long live the happy pooches!!!

    Food, food, food ..

Hi There I was operated on 23July so also early days for me. I have resorted to juicing watermelon to get fluid in and also need to pace myself with this. I know there is sugar in but one needs to be hydrated. I also cannot tolerate everything but keep trying. I really chew and chew and this is the only way I do not get the pain, like somthing scratching down my spine. I also get the same feeling if the sip of fluid is more like a swallow. You have not done too bad with the weight and your body is possibly slowing down due to the lack of nutrition. Do you still do shakes? I at least try to have one in the morning. Also frustrated as I had the week 3 stall that everyon talks about, however I have lost 30 pounds. We will just need to keep going and try not to resent the discomfort that is temporary. I found watching the sleeve stories on you tube enormously helpful as there is always someone that has experienced the same issues and has found a solution. Good luck, will keep an eye on your journey as we are all in this together.

    July 2013 Sleevers

Hi All I really need to post to correct a type I made yesterday. I intended to type that I have lost 30 pounds from the start of my journey and not 30 kg. I can only dream of reaching 30 kg weightloss before the end of the year. I am however very happy with my 30 pounds considering my surgery was on 23 July. Anyway I have been struggling to take enough due to my sleeve only tolerating very little food at a time. I have resorted to taking a few nuts or low fat cheese as snacks in order to reach my nutritional goal.

    Anyone on the 23rd?

Hi from Muhsi 1 I was done on 23rd. Find it a neverending battle to get the fluid down. The gas feels like a knife scratching my back till the gas moves. Doesnt matter if the fluid is hot or cold. could you guys that have passed this stage let us know how long it will last?

On the Post-Op side and New Life ahead...

Yep ditto on sharing your whole story. I was due for surgery on the 22 now its the 23. Learning what exaclty to expect really helps and one learns a bit more from each new story.
  12. Hi July sleevers, my date is also on 22nd if my bank loan is approved in time. Really hope it goes well, have started the diet (low fat in my case and just fluids for last 2 days). So excited and nervous that I can hardly breathe. I see that there are a few who will also be going on the 22nd. WOULD LOVE IT IF ALL OF US JULYERS CAN BE FORUM FRIENDS! it will make it easier to navigate through the same issues.

    At the hospital

Aaw shame, that is terrible but you are doing it for yourself and your baby so you can have many years ahead. Lots of love and good wishes. Let us know how you are after.

    No pre op diet?

Hi all, I have got a low fat diet and I am trying to follow it as much as possible. I will also do just liquids the day before, just as it seems the sensible thing to do. I spoke to many surgeons and theatre staff and they are of the opinion that it does not make much difference. Think of it, when one needs to go for a splenectomy or have their gall bladder removed by laproscopic sugery, those patients do not have special diets. Anyway best to follow your surgeon's recomendations, so that is what I am trying to do.
  16. Good luck, all will go well thinking of you.
  17. Like many others on this forum it was a combination of many factors, sore feet, embarassing photos and just a feeling of being huge. I attended my last function hugging a pillow that was on the couch, as if that would make me appear smaller. It is just so discouraging to try and try and try to loose the weight and have 2 steps forward and 3 steps back.
