Ok, my left side pain has subsided. No more pains when I breathe deeply or anything. It just vanished in the last couple days. Virtually all internal pain is gone. Still have some very minor surface pain from my incisions healing(I'm a compulsive scab picker, so that's not helping). But what's killing me it's this left shoulder blade pain! It's just nonstop unless I medicate it with Tylenol...I'm 24 days post op now...my God when will this end?

On the right side? I hate to say it but it could be your gallbladder. But it's pretty early for you to be developing a gallstone. Only 3 weeks post op. Get it checked out quick. I think they can see gallstones on an x Ray or mri. If you catch it quick you can probably treat it with medication or shockwave therapy. Last resort is surgery. Sorry, I hope that's not it! Maybe some gas still trapped in your abdomen.

Lol! I had a lot of trouble with the gas pain in the first several days post op. I couldn't lay down at all the after because the pain was so bad. If I still had trapped gas it wouldn't surprise me. Admittedly, I've not been that active.

Yeah I'm not having any trouble breathing. My lung capacity is still there, just get that pain when I breathe deep or yawn.

Tonight will be 3 weeks post op for me. I still have this pain too. Left shoulder pain, pain in my left side, feels like up by the ribs, just like you guys are saying. It's there when I breathe deep. But if I push down on that side of my stomach I can breathe deep without the pain. These websites had me freaking out thinking I had developed a leak. But I have no other symptoms than the left shoulder pain. There would be other problems right?

Thank you guys. It's really hard to stay positive right now. I feel like there's absolutely nothing I can do. Liz, I'm in Indianapolis on the south side, between UI and Beech Grove area.

Just saw this was a blog looking for people from Indiana. I'm on day 12 post op. Had surgery in Tijuana with Dr. Kelly. At my worst I weighed 383, just before starting 3 week pre-op diet I was at 378. Left for Tijuana on the 3rd week of the diet at 365, evidently lost another 16lbs on the trip there and back. So I'm at 349 now. But that is what I weighed 4 days ago when I got home. For some reason that's got me worried. I don't expect to lose a pound a day, but I've lost nothing since getting home. I already can't stand all this crap I get to "eat" So I've been really just not eating much, just staying hydrated and having protein drinks. I've been having some emotional issues with all this as well. Food and drink used to be all I enjoyed about life, it was the thing to do when I was bored or during my days off. "Eat, drink, and be merry" that was me... I've almost come to tears thinking that I've taken that away, it feels like there's a huge hole in my life. I'm so freakin bored. I've got 2 more weeks off of work with nothing to do but sit here and wonder if I've done the right thing or not. All of my support is hundreds of miles away, I moved to Indy in Jan 12 for a job. So, the only person/friend I've got to talk to is my favorite bartender at Wings. etc, but I can't go there! I don't know what else to do or say, I'm struggling in all ways...
