Milk of magnesia is what I have tried and what others have recommended. Also you may want to up your water. My surgeon said 64oz per day.

I am a little over 3 weeks out and I just started having a pain in my right side today. My pain is about level with my belly button. It hurts when I move. Not terrible, but enough to make me worry. I have been wondering if I am getting a hernia. Hopefully this is normal?!?!

Sadly tonight had a terrible acid reflux attack. I had never experienced one before, so it scared me! I have my first post-op appointment tomorrow, so I hope to get some advice on what to do about it. Good luck to everyone in the group!

I have been getting heart burn in the evening. I had surgery 12 days ago and am not sure what I can take for it. Ddo you think peptobismol is safe?

Thanks everyone for the input. I ended up calling my surgeon and they put me on prednisone (which I dreaded) but it is helping a lot! The benedryl and anti itch creme were not working. Wow, I think that itch was the worst part of the surgery.... that I can remember

Hi Folks, I saw that you all posted that you were scheduled for June surgery. I just had mine on June 27, 2013 and want to see how everyone was doing. I am into my second week and working to find full liquids that are not sweet, cause I am sick of sweet. Yesterday I bought some chicken noodle soup from whole foods and blended it with a little isopure protein. It was the best thing I have tasted in weeks! I wish you all the best of luck!

The skin in the area around where my surgery wounds are is crazy itchy and bumpy. I feel like I have a rash. It has been a week since surgery and the wounds are healing. Is there anything I can safely put on my skin to stop the itching?
