I had chicken, well chewed less then 2 weeks out and I was fine... will be 10 weeks in 2 days!! -
IDK what my problem is!! almost everything makes me want to tear up. I get very touchy when anyone complains about anything I do/don't do. I do have a lot going on. Looking for a teaching job, moving... so idk... just stressed. Anyone else? I will be 2 months post op on August 26. Starting weight 207 and now 178.

You are very lucky that you both did the surgery together! I feel like my relationship is taking a toll because a big part of us (enjoying food) has been taken away Thanks for the kind words!

I will be 2 months post op on August 26. Pre op started out at 207, that was 1 week 1200 calorie and day before all liquids. Day of surgery I weighed 198 and now weigh 178. I never really followed the post op diet, as I tried chicken about 2 weeks out. I never did the puree thing, I just chewed really well. Nothing that I eat really bothers my sleeve, but I do have a problem with sometimes eating too much/fast. I'm not too happy sometimes... with my life/situation, not exactly the sleeve but my move is without my "man" of 17 years. As I mentioned, my emotions are all over the place n i'm leaving him...long story n he is here laying next to me so i'm not gonna get too in to it right now, but stay tuned lol. Thank you all for your concern!

WARNING-- since I had the sleeve (2 months ago) my emotions have been so out-of-wack and have been so up and down in my relationship of 17 years. If you aren't happy now, good luck!! This emotional rollercoaster is no joke, and I wish you the best of luck. Hope your husband jumps on the band wagon with you, cause you will need the emotional support... I love my man... but he was supposed to try to loose weight with me, now I know I've got 1 up on him, as I cant eat ****, but he eats so much n seems to never stop... I look at his stomach and it seems to get bigger by the day. I don't love him any less for that, but I need him healthy so we can be happy together!! I agree with another post-- men are like children.... hard headed... babies!! Good Luck!! -
Great Job!!

You are going to be fine!! I too am almost 2 months out and have trouble getting the required fluids and proteins in. It's hard, I know and the overeating feeling sucks. I was at red lobster yesterday and ate 1/2 biscuit and like 5 spoons of lobster bisque and I felt horrible!! Some things I eat- string cheese, chicken, turkey, shrimp, fish, 2x's the protein greek yogurt and eggs.... The way I drink,,, I fill my glass with crushed ice then add water and some chrystal light for flavor. I try hard to get all the required fluids/protein in daily, but to be honest, I'm not sure if I have at all... I have my doctor appointment today and we shall see what my nut and surgeon have to say, but either way, I'm trying so...yea. Im going to go to the vitamin shop today and try the nector protein, because I gave up on protein shakes over a month ago, as I just got too frustrated with room-temp drinks (took to long to drink). Hope I find something I like, and I will be posting later when I'm done at the doctor. Try not to beat yourself up, this is a tough journey we are on, and it is going to take time to adjust to all the changes, but YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!!! -
Another queation for PostOps

I slept on my back/side for the first 3 days, then it was back to the belly for me. No pillows, good luck! -
At 3 weeks out I wasn't getting support from my man, I think that was the time he told me he was jealous of my weight loss ( he too is over weight). After that we began to build our relationship again and he began to be more supportive. I too was very stressed at that time, but it defiantly gets better, I felt like a hormonal crazy person lol, but our bodies and minds are going through a lot of changes, so just hang in there!! It gets better!!

I was sleeved on June 26 and I eat when I feel hungry, a cheese stick here, a greek yogurt there, and I try to drink as much as possible. I also like nuts, so I snack on them a couple times a day, or not, depending on the day lol. You will eventually get used to the feeling when you could use a bit to eat. I feel that,,, if I feel hungry, eat some type of protein, so thats what I do. Good luck!

You said half way to your doctors goal?! I thought that you are supposed to set your own goal!! Do what makes you happy!

Whoo Hoo Ladies!! I was sleeved on the 26th of June and I'm down 30 lbs!! Feels great, but all my "tight" pants are too loose now lol!!

Hi guys!! I was sleeved on June 26th and am 7 1/2 weeks post op. I have all the same complaints, the pain in the chest, the feeling water gives that it doesn't want to go down (which I feel like I can tolerate a lot more now as long as its cold) and the full feeling. So I'd like to share with you a few things that get me through (although I haven't been able to get in the required 64 oz fluids and 60 g. protein every day) I like to drink the frozen strawberry slushees from sonic, I ask them to only put half the flavoring (witch has real strawberries in it) . I then bought a large bag of ice chips from them for 1.99. I now fill a large glass with the chips and I add water and chrystal light to flavor. I enjoy drinking it and eating the ice at the same time a couple times a day. Greek yogurt, I eat that for breakfast and sometimes for a snack at the end of the day. I also eat string cheese as a snack. If I am eating regular food, which I do do maybe once a day, I HAVE TO EAT SLOW!!!!!!!!!! When I don't, I get that same horrible feeling in my chest, and it sucks cause eating slow is not one of my stronger points! I mean, we cant eat much at all, so I eat what I feel my sleeve can hold, and about 65% of the time I get that feeling. It lasts for maybe 30minutes to an hour and I don't throw up or feel the need to, I just feel full up to my neck. I enjoy chicken and fish because I know I'm getting protein in, btw I haven't drank a protein shake in probably a month...I know, what can I say...anything that wasn't cold wasn't happening. I was able to drink 1/2 of the shake then it got room temp, and my sleeve didn't like room temp! Its a lot better now though. I feel almost normal and the only time I don't feel normal is when I'm eating around people. Hope I could help a bit, and good luck!!

I was on my belly 6 days after surgery. I remember it being a bit of a discomfort for like 2 minutes, but then the feeling went away. Good luck!! -
You sound like you have grown to be a very smart and determined person. Without struggle there is no victory, and you, my friend are victorious!!!
-
Do u take gas x? DDo you take gas x? it works great, if you haven't, you should... not sure if it will stop your hunger, but I take one with each meal... seems to give a bit more room and removes gas.

Definitely not a piece of cake- 1 month post-op
ms.k posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi All! Before I start, I would just like to advise readers that this post is being written just to get some things off my chest. Please do not criticize or judge... because this past month has been stressful to say the least. A little background, I had my surgery on June 26, starting weight on first visit was 207, surgery day I weighed 195, and 1 1/2 weeks ago I weighed 181. I do not have a scale in my house because I don't want to get into the habit of stressing about loosing pounds, so I weigh myself at my grandmother's house every 1-2weeks. The day after surgery I was released from the hospital, no complications or problems, and I did not take any pain meds from that point on, which I am very proud of. I really wasn't in much pain at all, and I'd rather have the little bit of pain then have my stomach get upset from the pain pill, so I opted not to take them. I am very happy with the weight I have lost so far, as my old clothes are fitting me very nicely, and when I shop not I don't have to shop in the plus size section!!! I am, on the other hand very upset at myself for not working hard enough to get the required fluids and protein in. (as I am literally wiping tears from my face because this is how upset it makes me) I really don't know what my problem is, maybe depressed cause whenever I think about it the tears just start flowing. But anyway, I know I can do better, the motivation just isn't there.... and this really bothers me because I DON'T WANT TO LOSE MY HAIR!!!! So mad cause I know by not getting the required nutrition I am not putting myself in a good position to be healthy. On a good day I will get 20 or so oz of liquids and proteins, ha! maybe 10-20 a day.... I know, I'm not doing this right!! Again, PLEASE don't bash!!! I've been going to sonic daily to get slushees, cause I am able get those down with no problem, but that's like 20 oz... and I also try flavored water, and sometimes can drink a bottle, but that's about it.... I also eat greek yogurt with 2x's the protein, chicken, cheese, and anything else I can with protein in it cause, though I love the taste of the protein shake I have... I struggle getting 1 20g bottle down. BTW, Core Power, strawberry banana is delish!! So, these are my stresses. Just venting, and don't mean any harm, just wanted to get it out. Oh, before I end this, just want to add that I am on regular food. I eat maybe 3 times a day, love string cheese, tried pizza 1 time and it went fine, now no problems with any food I have eaten so far... Good luck to all of you!!! -

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. It's great to hear that i'm not the only one (even though I know no one has a simple time with the life changes). I have downloaded the fitness pal, and will use is. There is no smoothie king around here (nj) so I am going to look into the tasteless protein power. Anyone tried this? Wondering if it thickens juices or not. I really appreciate you all!!!
