Banding.....August 2007! Who else?
cazulay replied to JudiM's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
July 27!!! I was able to get in earlier than I thought, but if you'all don't mind I will stick with this group also. You all seem like such nice folks! Yeah!!!! -
July 27th!!! I just came back from visiting with my doctor, Dr. Marquez in Austin, TX, and am ready to banded. She was super nice and professional and I feel I will be taken care of. I have an appointment with the nutricionist July 10th to get started on my pre-op diet. It's a good thing too, because I am about to go to New England to visit my in-laws and want to be able to eat lobster rolls:embarassed: Good luck to us all!!!

I don't have last supper syndrome,I don't think, but the problem is I am always hungry! That's why I am getting the band, so I can stop eating. I don't want to eat, but when your stomach rumbles all the time, it's hard not to. Last night I woke up at like 3 am starving. I did not get up to eat ( I never did that, after I lay down it's hard to get me up again) but I dreamed of food... What I have been doing, however, is to cut down some and make some better choices on what I do eat. Like no more sodas at all. I haven't had one in a long time and do not miss it all, Thank God! And I used to wake and starting drinking cokes right away. Bottom line is, I think we all need this tool to help us change our lives. I really do believe it works. Hang in there!

Banding.....August 2007! Who else?

I am not sure if I will be late July or early August. I have an appointment with the surgeon ( Dr. Marquez in Austin, TX) on Wednesday and hope to have an answer then. I am self-paying so I hope they will be able to 'squeeze me in' as soon as possible. Also, I am a teacher and really hope to be up and about before it's time to go back to school. I went for my exercise orientation today and was surprised to find out there were no tests, only talk. How important it's to exercise etc... I have been going to Curves 3x week for a year, so the woman seemed at a loss on what to say to me. But she did stress the importance of exercising pre-op t avoid complication such as blood clots. And post-op to speed up your metabolism and accelerate weight loss. I can't wait to see the nutricionist and see what he has to say. -
Has Anybody Made a List of Things You Want To Do After Weight Loss?

- Be healthier - Not be nagged by my mom about my weight - Cross my legs - Wear dresses- too embarred now of fat legs - Buy lingerie at Victoria's Secret - Be comfortable in airplane - Have more energy - Horse-back riding - More energy!!! - Sweat less - Climbing the stairs without panting - Wear tank tops - Wear short-shorts - Not be terrified of getting really bad news every time I go to the doctor - Scuba diving -Not feel so self-conscious all the time - Look in the mirror - Not hide behind a pillow every time I sit down - Wear a tucked-in shirt, with belt - Buy regular size shoes, not WWWWWWWW - Did I mention more energy -
I was diagnosed at age 15. Lots of excess hair, weight and mood swings. No acne for me luckly. At some point I did not get a period for 2 years! But usually I would get one between 6-8 months. I am on birth control pills as well as Glugophage, and let me tell this last drug makes it nearly impossible to loose weight. But because nearly everyone on both sides of my family is a diabetic I will stay on it until I have lost weight. I haven't been banded yet but am looking forward to see what happens. Hopefully a lot!

I am just starting my process, and it's really great to hear experienced banders experiences. Thank you so much for sharing, it has been very helpful. And congratulations on your loss!

I went to the seminar today, and doctor said that self-pays ( my insurance will not cover anything that has to do with weight loss) can get "under the knife" in about four weeks. So I am calling first thing tomorrow morning and scheduling my first appointment. I am a teacher, teaching summer school now, and will be off starting July 26th, so hopefully they can get me in that last week of July. I am looking forward to being healthier, to having more energy, to being proud of myself... I want to look in the mirror and say Wow! instead of Yuck! I am really, really hoping this will be a helpful tool for me. I love reading everybody's replies. You're all a nice bunch. WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!! :clap2:
