GETTING MY SLEEVE BANDED...
GoochMonster replied to LULU TATT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Would a reputable dr even do that procedure? Your stomach is already so small it takes effort to get enough nutrition to keep you healthy. -

Have you read any of the other 487 posts about stalls?

Good DVD workout for beginners?
GoochMonster replied to megansmommy123's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I would suggest the Power90 series. NOT the P90X, the Power90. Same guy, different workouts. It's basically the equivalent of a gym workout with a trainer. Very good starting point. -
SERIOUSLY?? This has gone a little too far folks. Admins can we get a delete here??

WLS surgery talk... anyone? anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
-
My previous posts have nothing to do with my belief or disbelief in God. I was brought up very Catholic. But this is not the place for that type of discussion. Its not a "Freedom of speech" issue. I could post about my rotten day at work, my band or my dog, but I don't because this is a forum for wls. Why can't we keep it that way?

everyone is different, ask your Surgeon or NUT

Seriously? That's almost 1lb a day for two weeks... what's wrong? Seriously?

whey isolate protein shots?
GoochMonster replied to karpouzian's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Protica Profect 2.9oz shots. They're yummy and my Dr said they were great! I get them on Amazon -
No one said you need to know "every nuance" of what was going to happen to you, but c'mon! "I had NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO F*$N CLUE about alllllllllll of the changes that I do NOT like. Allow me to vent: 1. The fact that I will never be able to eat more than a 1/2 to cup of food (maybe thaaaaat's not too bad...LOL) 2. The fact that I will have to FOR.EVER try to get "60-80 g" of Protein EVERY DAY! FOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER. That is F&$& HARD to do" Spend 30 minutes on the internet reading and researching and you would have known all of this well before you made this decision.

And just to clarify, my previous comment was not directed to the person who started this thread, You had a valid question so I hope I didn't offend you with my little rant.

Okay here comes the unpopular opinion and I'm sure I'll get blasted for it... WHY THE HELL didn't you do every bit of research you could possibly do before permanently altering your body??? Seriously?? There's 100 other websites just like this one for you to research, there's information EVERYWHERE. What did you think would happen when a surgeon removed 85% of your stomach? Did you expect to eat a cheeseburger and fries a month later? C'mon, you can't blame your surgeon for not telling you that you'll only be able to hold a cup (give or take) of food in your stomach. The average human stomach holds 4-5 cups of food when it's normal size and yours is now 15% of that. Do the math. Really? Really??

Why I Post aka That guy's an A Hole
GoochMonster replied to Paul11011's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'll be right there next to you Paul. I unfortunately have to wait until Nov/Dec for my wls because my ins requires a 6 month program before final approval. But all I can say to some of these posts and things I see in the chatroom is WOW are you kidding me??? You are exactly right, some people are looking for the answer they WANT to hear and nothing more. I saw someone in chat saying they were eating solid food after a couple of days (even though their surgeon said not to), and recently I think they're about 5-7 weeks out and saw they said they ate a slice of pizza! Seriously?? Why would you put yourself through this drastic life changing surgery if you have no intentions of following a new way of eating or your Dr's advice? I don't get it. -

I live alone, and have been trying to learn how to cook for one, but it's tough (being full blooded Italian). I'm used to cooking for a bunch and now it's just me. And I LOOOOOVE to cook (and eat). Does anyone have any tips or tricks for cooking/shopping for one post op? I know people will say cook it then freeze it, but I hate cooked food after it's been frozen. I might as well just throw it away before it hits the freezer because I won't eat it anyway. Leftovers are fine, just not frozen ones.
