    Scrambled Eggs ??

That's what I did too, cook the eggs and mush them with my fork as I ate. Chew the heck out of them. I cooked them a little "soft" so it worked great for me.

    Let's start a mythbusters thread...

I am loving this thread. Especially about the exercise. This is a weak area for me. Jachut~ you are my IDOL!

    just a question

I too had 2 c-sections. Once at 23 years old, and again at 28 years old. I had no problem with them. At 48 I get banded, piece of cake compared to the c-sections, I didn't think they were bad! Lap-band is easy, not so invasive, recovery is simple. Just a bit of "discomfort" as to be expected. NO BIG DEAL! Hope this helps.

    Where is everyone from?

I have friends up in your area. They live in Adams and in N. Adams. Beautiful area and we ride our motorcycles up there to Mt. Greylock all the time. I just love the area. Is that close to where you are? Hello neighbor! :bounce:

    Goals!

Judy, hang in there. It will get better. Each day will be a bit better. As for eating too much, for me it is more than I should be eating per my instructions. I don't eat nearly as much as I did prior to surgery, but I'm eating more than 1/2 c. of food per sitting. More like a cup. And that is ground up, pureed, whatever. So I know I"m over. I can't wait for my first fill just to get some more restriction. Exercise......now that is where I would need to make some goals. I've been slacking pretty much, but will need to put my heart and soul in it. Setting a goal and ticker just might be my motivation to be accountable. Great idea. When do we have to start this?????? LOL

    Office Worker tips.

:faint:No, I lost the first 20 pre-op during my 6 month program required by the insurance company, I've lost about 13 pounds since surgery. I go back to Dr. Fiallo Nov. 13 and I think I'm getting my first fill then. But the weight is coming off so I must be doing something right, trick will be KEEPING it off. That's the tough part for me. :faint:

    Office Worker tips.

Just take a piece or two of candy from the bowls at work and drop them in the trash! It will help them to disappear faster! LOL
  9. Chin up Jenne! You are not alone. If you are only taking in 600 cal. per day your body is hanging on to what it has. You have to increase your calories so your body knows it is not being starved and will start to lose the weight. Good luck!
  10. I did go back to work within a few days. Surgery was on Friday and I was at my desk plugging away on Tuesday AM. But each of us are different, and I'm not saying I was not uncomfortable. I was. I was tender and sore especially in the port area. At night I put a heating pad on my belly and on my shoulder to help with the gas pain. Also walk. Walk, and walk some more. You will be surprised how much gas you will pass and how much better you will feel. I still have to do it because I still get bad gas pain. Hang in there, you can do this!
  11. I too had a 6 month supervised weight loss program to do before insurance approval. It's a pain, but do it and in 6 months you will be glad you did! I was! I am!

    Office Worker tips.

I don't see myself sitting at my desk doing curls, but I have to tell you I can see myself riding one of those motorcycles!!! I keep Healthy Snacks in my desk. If I get a bit hungry or just feel like munching (I know a no-no) then I pull out a piece of low-fat cheese and maybe a few pretzels. Hopefully I will be doing this again soon as I can't at the moment due to mushie diet, but Jello is filling in right now. LOL

    Feed Me Seymore!!!!!

I know it is hard, it was hard for me too! I'm now on mushies and who would have thought that mushed, pureed foods that actually look so gross when you prep them could taste like heaven!!!! I'll be on this stage for at least 2 weeks before I can start solids. But it is better than the liquids!

    I am a QUEEN!!!

You look fantastic!!! You ROCK! Congrats!! I can't say enough!!!!
  15. I was banded on the 5th. I too am still swollen. Not as much as I was, but swollen. My port is like Tulip, between the bra line and the waist and centered a bit.
  16. My insurance covered everything. I just had to pay my co-pays. You should call your insurance company and ask questions. Ask why they don't cover psych evaluations. I would think they would. Also ASK about weight loss surgery and if Lap-Band is covered. You should ask all this before you go too far and find out later it is not covered. Some insurances won't cover it. Best to check before hand.

    TENaciousTENS "roll call" as promised!

Welcome Nettie, you and I have the same band date! How are you doing?

    When is your 1st fill?

I have creamed soups, cottage cheese, applesauce, puddings, I put a small piece of chicken in the processor and let it go added some fat free gravy and it was yummy. Mashed potatoes, smashed up veggies. I figure I can have almost anything as long as I can puree, blend, and mush it up. Oh yeah, scrambled eggs (with cheese of course!).

    New life now!!!

Best of luck to you both (Melissa & Topdownbug). You will soon be on your train to skinnyville!!!

    Food Stage

What stage are you at with your food post-op? I am on mushies. Anything I can grind up, puree, or liquidfy I tolorate easily. I have not tried solids at it is too soon. Some say I'm pushing it at the mushie stage, but I got hungry!

    Has my pouch stretch?

I don't have any restiction either, nor do I feel the band. But you have to remember, we just got banded........no fill yet.
  22. I asked my surgeon prior to my surgery. He told me to wait maybe a few days, then I should be comfy enough to be "creative". And I was.

    Carrot06 is alive!

Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better Carrots! Just take care of yourself, remember, your work will be there tomorrow whether you are or not! Take it easy and let yourself heal. Even though most of us are doing just fine, one thing my DH keeps reminding me is that we all just had MAJOR surgery. So take the time and rest and let yourself heal.
