I am 34 years young and have suffered like most of you with obesity related issues and the time has come for me to put myself first after years of not doing so. I am originally from Atlanta, GA but currently living and working in Switzerland and I can tell you that things happen for a reason because for many years I tried to have this surgery done back home but most doctors were hesitant especially at the prospect of having to deal with insurance companies. Switzerland is one of the few countries in the world that recognizes obesity as a serious disease and is supportive of patients getting various procedures done to help deal with obesity and the various challenges that come with being overweight. While weight loss would be great, for me it's the basic things like keeping up with my two year old that will mean the most. I also just want to use a normal belt on an airplane, walk from one building to the other without huffing and puffing, learn to enjoy life again! etc. I also have a loving and devoted husband who has had to take a back seat as I am usually not up to going out or doing anything so this will be a great way for us to just reconnected over most of the things that we mutually enjoy e.g. hiking through Switzerland and enjoying the breathtaking scenery etc. More to come..... :)
