Does anyone have trouble viewing Bariatric Pal on the phone?
melis56914 replied to bellabill's topic in The Lounge
I have problems with it too. Hope they fix it soon -
and we are 17 weeks pregnant. Has anyone else been in this situation and continued to lose weight the entire pregnancy? Since finding out I was pregnant in December I have lost about 20lbs although I continuously eat to try to accommodate for the extra calories that I know I need to get in. I'm hoping as baby grows the weight loss will stop and I will stay at a steady weight. Just looking for advice from others who have been in the same situation! Thanks in advance.

I am having a hard time keeping my rings on my finger and I'm not ready to resize them just to do it again in another 6 weeks, so what is the best solution to keep me from losing them?

I'm about as far out as you but my dr said 6 weeks and then go back to strenuous things so I would say as long as you are feeling up to it and have the energy go for it and have fun!!

I MADE IT!! I have lost 30lbs, I'm down from 231 to 201! I can fit a Med shirt now, but its still a tad short to wear out in public! I'm down from a 2X. I can see a major difference in my energy level. I have to force my husband to go out and do things. I'm finally getting interested back in the thinks that are were of interest before, like school. Just in time too because I have 3 assignments to catch up before the class ends a week from today! Pics on left are a couple weeks after surgery, pics on right are now...

Don't set goals by dates, set goals like once you hit a certain weight you get something new or just hitting a number in itself is a goal. My first goal is 199 and I'm at 201. I don't have a date on it, it's my goal because I will be under 200 at that point. Im currently 30lbs down from where I started and I while I still have awhile til I met my long term goal I have a ton more energy to enjoy life and do things with my kids. It's not about time goals it's all about weight goals and feeling good about yourself!

I alternate between my side and my stomach and I woke up on my stomach my first night home from the hospital. I would also sleep on my side with a pillow pushed up under my back so I was resting on it instead of my incision.

I'm 6 weeks out and my belly button incision is still painful at times. It looked the worst right after surgery and I didn't take the bandage off of that one til about 3 weeks after surgery because it was too sensitive until then.

2 weeks out and tolerating everything...not getting particularly full either :(.
melis56914 replied to MumtazG38's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You don't want to feel full, you want to feel satisfied. Everyone loses weight at a different rate so you can not get upset because you have "only lost 10 lbs". That is 10lbs closer to your goal weight so you should be happy about. Your numbers will increase as your weeks go by. Just keep following the diet that the nutritionist put you on and stop trying new foods until they come up in your diet. Your surgeon wouldn't have put you on the diet if he thought your body could handle everything you are eating. Make sure you get all of your protein in and your fluids and because that plays a big role in losing weight! -
Day 2 and I may have already over done it
melis56914 replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How much water are you drinking at a time? You should be sipping rather than taking big drinks. Larger size drinks will make you feel like your esophagus is on fire, I have done it a few times when I haven't drank anything for a bit and it always catches me afterwards. -
GETTING MY SLEEVE BANDED...
melis56914 replied to LULU TATT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm guessing you meant 2012 Have you tried increasing your exercise and reducing your calories? The first year or so the weight will slowly just fall off but after that the sleeve is only a tool to be used along with the correct diet and exercise to get the results you want. -
pre-op diet issues...ugh
melis56914 replied to gia24's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Could you find the instant breakfast sugar free online and get it shipped to you in 1-2 days so that you don't have to go without it for very long? -
Is it inside your stomach or at your incision sites? I will be 6 weeks post tomorrow and still get pain at my incisions, especially my umbilical site.

GETTING MY SLEEVE BANDED...

When was your surgery and what are your stats at this point? -
We are moving in Oct but my kids are going to stay with my parents next weekend to start school there instead of switching in 2 months. I have to meet my mom half way instead of either of us driving the whole distance, but once I drop them off I will be by myself (other than my 3 year old). Round trip it will be about 13 hours... so my question what type of things can I take to snack on once I get tired and have to stay awake til I get home? The only non-messy thing I can think of is grapes. Please help!

I will be 6 weeks on Tuesday.

Surgery Aug 15 and New Job Sept 3, Can it be done?
melis56914 replied to becksnky's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you won't be lifting you would be fine. The first 3 or 4 days were the worst for me but day 4 was up walking to the store and around our complex. Just make sure you still get all of your liquids and protein in while you are at your new job or you will find yourself extremely tired! -
Good luck and congrats!! I was first surgery of the day as well and was in my room by 9:30 but I still don't remember a whole lot about that day. I couldn't even tell you if my husband was with me the whole time or if he went to work that afternoon.

With that mind set you can accomplish anything you work towards!! Good Luck and Congrats

What type of diet are you on? Full liquids or clear liquids?

How long until weight loss begins?
melis56914 replied to Luv2bslim's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I lost 20lbs the first 10 days and since that have only lost 7lbs and I will be 6 weeks out on Tuesday. Even though you are only losing small amounts of weight you will see big differences in your inches and how your clothes fit. Everyone loses differently so don't try to compare yourself to someone else because you will only get discouraged. -
3 month progress! Lovin it
