I don't think my incisions ever bothered me. Quite honestly I didn't feel much pain throughout the entire process. (Shots and the IV was more painful than anything else) and I never touched the pain killer button they hooked me up to while in the hospital and never took any of the pain meds that were prescribed once I got home. What I did feel was more of an overall soreness. My stomach felt sore, like as if I had just done 4million sit ups or crunches....I think I felt sore like that for about a week and a half post op.

nearly 10weeks postop and loving life!
celina11 replied to celina11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I went into the full liquid stage I was still having a really hard time eating anything. I could eat only a few small bites before feeling very very full. Basically each stage of eating post op got slightly better/easier/more normal. I just stuck with the plan my doctor set up for me and by the time I got to my new normal eating everything was fine. I am able to eat literally anything without any trouble....only difference is I can only eat very small amounts. -
nearly 10weeks postop and loving life!
celina11 replied to celina11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
for me, it was making sure I hit my Protein amounts every single day and staying active. On days I didn't eat enough or I didn't drink enough Water, the numbers on the scale would not budge. But on days or consecutive good days that I ate several small high protein meals and drank lots of water I would lose a half a pound to a pound over night! -

nearly 10weeks postop and loving life!
celina11 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have finally reached my first mini goal of getting out of the 200s and into the 100s. I am 5'8, 22 years old. Starting weight was 235 and today I weigh 197!!!! I'm very excited to finally be back in the 100s! My bra size has gone down from a 40D to a 38C. Pant size from a 14-16 to a 10! Overall I am loving my sleeve! I have been lucky to not have any complications or pain. I am able to eat normally and nothing really irritates or upsets my stomach. I'm not sure if at 10 weeks and having lost 38lbs is a good pace or not...how is everyone else? -
Protein bars- helpful or harmful?
celina11 replied to Reigo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The premier protein bars from SAMs are working for me. They have 30g of protein and I can't remember the number of carbs but I don't think it was very high. These are so thick and so filing i usually can't finish a whole bar in one sitting. I'll split it in half and eat it as two different snacks during the day. -
I don't understand the post op 2 week diet
celina11 replied to hopingtolose2013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The reason we can't stray from the diet they give us, and the reason fruits, even blended up, are not allowed during this phase is because of the high quantities of fiber. They do not want your stomach turning and your digestive system working any more than an absolute minimum. This is so the stomach can heal. I know it's hard, but it's necessary. Also, my doc said that diarrhea was normal during these stages. Just push through it. You'll be moving on to the next post op phase soon! Good luck! -
JUNE 2013 Sleevers?
celina11 replied to Alimac-2007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved June 21. Starting weight of 235 ( I am 22 years old and 5'8) On July 4,2013 I weighed 210. However most of the month of July I was at a complete stand still. Today, August 1, I weigh 203. The 7lb difference has all been lost in the last week. I attribute my stall to not taking in enough Protein. And not drinking enough Water. Also, in the last week I have really pushed myself in the gym and trying to hit at least 6,000 steps. ( I highly recommend getting a zip fitbit monitor to track steps and distance and the aria fitbit wifi scale...this scale is great and it syncs with your iPhone to keep an organized record of your weight) -
We're you ever thin before surgery?
celina11 replied to Reigo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was always very very thin up until 3 years ago. I reached my current height of 5'8 when I was 15 and always weighed about 120-126 lbs. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18 and gained 100 lbs in less than 1 year. Having this surgery is giving me the boost in the right direction and I can't wait to be closer to my old self. -
Actual Down time after Surgery?
celina11 replied to ajayb19's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
everyone is different. I am 22 years old so maybe that's why I recovered so quickly but here's my story.. I had surgery on Friday, was released on Sunday and went to school Monday. I was walking around and even went to the mall Sunday after beings released from the hospital. I did not drive for about 6 days after coming home. And the doc said not to lift anything tok heavy. After 2 weeks post op I started going to the gym with no restrictions. -
Will I ever sleepnon my stomach again?
celina11 replied to flyme_places's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeping on my tummy 4 days post op. nothing ever hurt but I was worried I might be causing damage, however my doc said it was fine. Are you physically uncomfortable when on your stomach or is this more of a mental thing where you feel worried about the incisions ? -
Need recommendations for best protein shakes
celina11 replied to Murphy316's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The premier protein shakes that are sold at SAMs are very good. I believe each shake has 30g of protein. I've only tried vanilla and I really like the way it tastes -
has anyone ever tried the drug qsymia? I am 3 weeks post op and was on this medication for two months prior to surgery. My surgeon said it was up to me if I wanted to continue taking it post op. I haven't thus far but i am considering it. Anyone else take weight loss drugs like qsymia post op?

Curios question........What is your average weight loss each week?
celina11 replied to Beach Lover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on June 21 (almost 3weeks ago) and have lost 25lbs. BUT in the last 4 days, I have not lost any weight at all. I was weighing myself everyday but have decided to stop doing that and only check my progress weekly. Being patient is so annoying!!
