I think, regardless of what realy happened everybody should get behind this doctor and support him. That goes for all bariatric surgeons in Mexico too. I realy think that this was a tragic accident and I would not like to be in this doctor skin right now. All mexican doctors should learn from each other experiences and help each other as much as they can. That would help their cause much more than bashing each other through different kind of medias. For sure no pacient should be left without an emergency doctor ready to jump in. This is I think how they could help each other eaven if they compete bussines wise. In this field bad news will affect all of them not only the unlucky doctor. They have to understand that as long as the halth care in US and Canada doesn't change and as long as the population in this countries are not going to change the way they eat, there will be plenty of bussines for them. So all Mexico doctors please unite and DO help each other. People scheduled to have surgery with this doctor , don't wory the probabilty for that happening again is on your side. -
It's funny because I had the same think happening to me. I was not afraid of the surgery or the pain . I was afraid of loosing control during anestesia. I asked my doctor to let me now when i'll be put under and he said SURE! So beeng on th OP table he kept asking me about my work and I went to sleep probably in the midle of the first sentence.

Has anyone used Mexico Bariatric Center ?

The doctors you mentioned are very respected and they work as a team. I also heard that they are morning persons. The leak test is done during surgery when you are not aware of, so doesn't matter as discomfort. After two days there is another one where you drink a bit of aple juce with dye and the do a fluoroscopy. During this you can see how the liquid is going down trough your little stomach in the intestines. -

In my case the cardiologist was the first one to show up and take the EKG. He asked me on the spot when was my last check up and that I have a mild case of swolen hard or somthing like this due to the high blod pressure I've been having. Nothing to worry about but still I was a bit afraid. I'm surprised that the lady who very unfortunatly past didn't have one done preop. Laura Van is right. If you want to do this don't go read the sad stories. That's almost like tryng to find any reasons to not do it. That again means that you don't realy want to do it. -
extra fees after surgery at Nova Hospital in Tijuana?
Tudor replied to waterlady's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
For all those who felt misleaded when dealing with dr. Kelly I want to remind you that it is writen in the papers you signed that you'll be charged depending of your BMI and whatever other rasons like medicines you might need extra. I was not charged a dime extra but the guy who had surgery the same day as me was charged 150$ exrtra for the stuff they had to put in his IV. He had some different issues wth his feet. Anyway he didn't get charged by the doctor but by the hospital. There is a disclaim in your financial agreement stating all this. Now not to ercomend a doctor due to a misunderstang is not fair. -
