You look wonderful! Thanks for sharing your pics!

Good luck to you and am proud that you have stuck with your decision. You are doing fabulous so far and i hope that things go great for you. I looked into this 5 years ago and had not such as good feeling with the doctor I saw. A friend of mine referred to to Dr. Roslin in NY and he changed my life. I'm 5 days out and pretty sore, but I know I made the right choice. This website is so wonderful. I go on this a couple of times a day and it really encourages me. Good luck to you!

i have the GNC lean shake - it is 25 grams of protein and about 14 oz. the dutch chocolate is very good. i know they are running a special now, but one get the other half off. And also the Atkins and ADvantage are very good as well. You can get the advantage at BJ's for alot cheaper than CVS.

fh61 replied to katierebecca83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
katierebecca83 - thanks so much you made me feel so much better. that is about what i am getting in - but hearing everyone else's stories i thought maybe i was lacking in everything. i too, am swollen around the belly button, but it has gone down so much since i left the hospital. i had some applesauce (unsweetned) to get some meds down and that was heaven. here's to all of us getting through this tough period and on to a healthy happy life -
One week post op visit

That is great news! I'm out 5 days as well. Feeling really tired and pain is subsiding. Do you find it hard to get all the protein and water in? I apprecaite any help you can give -
when do you usually have your first post op check up? are you guys adding unflavored protein to everything to get enough protein in. i still cant figure out how to get 60-80 grams of protein, wait a half hour before and after meals, and drink 64 ounces of waters. help would be appreciated. I'm 5 days post op and not taking pain meds anymore, but i am so freaking tired. if i take a nap it throws off my whole schedule to get everything in.

I had the surgery on 7/25 and i still have my bandaids on. I dont want to see what is underneath. I am just waiting for them to fall off. I'm pretty sure the nurse told me it was okay to take them off because there are steristrips under them, but i'm a bit nervous to take them off.

I know exactly how you are feeling. I was so excited for my surgery, but the day before i had a major panic attack. I cried and cried all night, didnt sleep a wink, wondering the what if this happens and why am i volunteering to have this done. Do I really need to do this. Then I went over why i wanted this in the first place. I am 300 lbs and 51 years old. I cannot walk two blocks without getting into a complete sweat. I wanted my life back, Even on the way to the surgery, i was like why am i doing this? Go with your gut, not your fears. I am so glad that i did the surgery - i am 5 days out, it has not been easy, but we knew that going into it. The greatest fear, is of the unknown, but do not let that stop you from your dreams. It is definately hard work, and I so wish i could fast forward another couple of weeks, but i cant. Have faith in your decisions and you will be fine. Good luck to you all

i know it is definately a weird subject lol. Good luck to you on this journey.

I had one today and yes it was very dark. I am 4 days out and was so glad that i did have one.

I had mine done on the 25th as well. Home yesterday from hospital. So glad to have come home take a shower. still very uncomfortable, but every day getting better. i've slowed down the painkilers - only 1/day usually at bedtime. I had my done at Northern Westchester Hospital in NY. Great doctor, awesome nurses who took care of me. Meet two wonderful ladies who had surgery the same day - we all have had different recoveries, but we've been texting each other and encouragin each other. I've given them this website because i believe it really helps to know that you are not alone. Nobody understands unless they did this. I find it a bit overwhelming trying to get the protein drinks, water and vitamins down. Trying to get a schedule that fits everything in. I took a 3 hour nap today, so that was good, but then missed my mealtime. i know i will figure it out, but i wish all of us a wonderful and speedy recovery

fh61 replied to miss_lalaaa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved n July 25 and came home from the hospital today. I am on the liquids stage and i am trying to figure out how am i going to get all this protein in me. I figured i would have 5 shakes a day, but that will only bring me up to 25 proteins a day. HOw on earth am i going to get the other 35 proteins in? Does anyone have any suggestion for this. I so look forward to hearing from someone regarding this. -

Two weeks out. Wow that was incredibly brave of you. I am to take my daughter to a concert 4 weeks after surgery and am worrying about that. So proud of you that you took that on. Sometimes husbands can be such asses. I have one for 25 years and i am preparing myself for his annoying comments as well. hang in there - be proud and try to rest a bit

I know how you feel. i am having surgery one week from today and last night i did wake up in a panic. with a million questions...........will i always have to sip my water, will i alwyas have to chew my food 25 times before swallowing.........will i be able to eat regular food after a while. am i going to be able to get all the water and protein down after surgery. i know that i am totally making the right decision, i guess it is really the fear of the unknown. good luck to us all! -
I too am getting sleeved on July 25th. I have my last appointment with my doctor before the surgery. I had my UGI done yesterday and was told that i have a hernia as well. I will find out tonite what that will entail. I'm starting to get a bit nervous, but I am going to my support group tonite so hopefully that will calm the nerves. Is anyone else nervous? Does everyone have their supplies ready? Any advise would be appreciated. Good luck to all of us.

I am having my surgery in two weeks and am getting a bit nervous. I am 100% sure of my decision, but I guess it is the fear of the unknown. How much pain will I be in, will I regret my decision, will something go wrong. After thinking about all of this I still think go for it. I so hope that it turns out the way I am hoping it will - with no complications. I know my life will change drastically on July 25th and I am hoping I am strong enough to deal with all that is coming my way. But reading everyone's posts does make it easier. I havent seen anyone who said that they regretted their decision and I hope a couple of weeks from now, I too, will be writing how happy I am with my decision. Any helpful hints would be appreciated.
