  1. I just had Chinese food for the first time in forever and am pretty bummed about the fact that I could only eat three pieces of chicken and two pieces of broccoli. Anyone have any advice or things I can do to get over my sadness about not being able to eat a whole plate of food?

    Sad about new eating habits

I've had the same thoughts. I'm sad I won't be able to eat a whole cheeseburger or a whole plate at my favorite restaurant. It's so much like a breakup and I had no idea that I would have these feelings afterward. I also have a "sleeve of steel" (I'm totally stealing that!) and I get sad that I'm done eating in five minutes and watching everyone else eat. And it's not like I can drink because I have to wait 30 minutes. I just had no idea how MUCH of my problem was MENTAL until the sleeve. I'm very happy I had it done. I'm 52lbs down and so motivated to get the weight off! I just want to stop these pity party feelings that come up from time to time!!

    Sad about new eating habits

I'm at 8 weeks out. Don't get me wrong I know this is a BIG part of my problem to begin with but I just don't know how to get over the ridiculous mental stuff like food mourning. I have all these strategies for dealing with everything but this aspect of it. It's so insane that you would mourn food but I absolutely do . I guess I can try to eat slower, fortunately I have been able to still eat and drink pretty quickly so I haven't been forced to slow down but I guess I need to. I know I also should have put my food on a tiny plate.

    protein, and amount of food

I've found Isopure clear protein drinks are the only ones I can stomach which is funny to me because I've always enjoyed the creamy ones before.
  5. I took pils but haven't had any problems taking them. You can also do benifiber but the pills will be an immediate help. I've had two more since then and still incredibly painful. I take two a day and will continue until its not agonizing anymore!
  6. OMG I took a week and a day and let me tell you it was not pleasant! Start taking stool softeners right now!! I was sleeved June18th

    Is this normal?

Me too! Hungry as soon as I wake up I the morning just like before surgery! 9 days out and desperate for real food!
  8. I'm 1 week, 2 days past surgery and I guess I thought the surgery would magically fix my head! Needless to say, it has not worked out that way. I still want to binge on food all the time. I miss the taste of it. Friday I'm going to be moved to the mushy stage and tonight we made brown sugar meatloaf and velveeta shells and cheese (faves) so I decided I would try some since I was only a day out anyway. I did really great and tried to stop when I was full, before I got uncomfortable but still feel u satisfied because my head is telling me that's not enough food. How do you make a nice little plate for yourself of 1/4 c of food and not think you need more on there? Any tips or tricks for fighting the head hunger? I know I need to quiet this food addicted beast inside me before my sleeve can accommodate more foods so that I can stay fit and healthy for life and never travel this road again but I don't know how to make that little **** shut the hell up!!
