What do you mean by full liquids?
-
Hi, I have a vacation planned for 2 weeks in August and will be mostly in hotel and resort the entire time. My doc says its still mushy stage (ugh, I though that would have been done 6 weeks post op). Since I won't be cooking and mostly eating out, what are some suggestions? Has anyone done a vacation this soon out? Any advice would be appreciated so I can prepare and not be stuck.

Yes you look really amazing. I think I would seek another opinion about your weight number. A size 4 is amazing and if you look 20 more would that be a 0 size? You look very healthy. Do you have lots of excess skin? Could that be some of the weight? Seek another opinion. Way to go, you give me hope. 1 week sleeved.

Ugh that's what I'm dreading also. I'll be going on vacation in 5 weeks and I'm a bit worried since ill be staying at a resort. Not much ability to cook your own food so will have to get creative.

Does protein actually HELP you lose weight?

What mint ones?. Please share!, thanks :-) -
JessicaAnne, for me the c section was a breeze. This pain last a while, especially when bending or getting in and out of bed. The incisions are much higher than the c, if you're doing laparoscopic. With that said, the pain is tolerable. Just sore and in fact I get more pain from where the drain was taken out. Not to scare you at all but I like to know what I'm getting into. Best of luck!

Driving after surgery
anialw replied to 2013sleevegirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drove 3 days after and was fine for a 20 minute trip. I was told you need to not have taken the narcotic pain meds 6 hrs prior and then you're fine. But I would also say I did take my time getting in and out of the car. -
Hi everyone, I just had surgery yesterday and am home tonight. It went well, however the gas is really bad and the feeling of bowel cramping. Obviously the general stomach area is sore, but I'm managing with the pain meds. I did read that Gas-X strips are very helpful as is Miralax for a bowel movement. Any advice for a newbie?

Walking, walking... how much?
anialw replied to anialw's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for all your responses! Wow there is definitely lots of different advice and dr's orders. I guess I will just do my best and not over exert myself. I am feeling so much better today. I woke up early and went for a walk around the block before the oppressive heat and sun kicked in full force. It took me about 25 minutes with some stops as half the route is at an incline but I felt good and not too tired. I ended up going back to bed, this not eating food definitely takes away lots of energy. I am walking in the house again for 10 to 15 minutes mostly because its boring. I am planning to head out to the local department store to shop/walk some more in the AC. Its only a 5 minute drive but its nice and big and I can put in at least another 20 minutes of walking in. My gas has been down since I am now easier to pass gas. Never thought that would make me happy! Thanks so much, small steps but better every day. -
Ok so all I hear from my Dr, hospital and everyone on here is to keep walking. I get it, it's very important. But how much walking? Like seriously, specifically? I am 3 days post op, surgery was 7/2. I am mostly off pain meds, it just makes me groggy and sleepy and yucky and the soreness is not too bad. Gas is huge so I hear walk. It is 100 degrees here (and we have a heat wave coming for a week) so I do most of my walking in the house or when I take the dog in the back yard. And when I say walking, I walk back and forth in my home a few times a day (maybe 5 or 6) for 10 minutes or so. Sometimes I have the tv on and walk in circles in the tv room (my dog doesn't know what the heck is going on :-) ). I definitely feel the gas coming up when I walk but then its really painful and I force burbs because otherwise my chest hurts from the pressure and it dies go away. So is that enough? More? How much should I be doing? Thank you so much for all your wisdom. Looking forward to the next few weeks, months, and life as a new me.

Thank you! trying to walk as much as I can around the house since its 100 degrees outside and we have a heat wave.

Surgery 7/2 I am really struggling with getting the protein and water in and am kind of missing the taste of real food. So far I tried Nectar and Isopure and at first they taste ok, but halfway down it's just really yucky. I am mostly walking around the house since its 100 degrees outside, but will try to get out tomorrow.
