Hi All, Banddate +1 and all went well. No complications and I was walking the floors by noon. Dr T. was great the whole staff was amazing. It was a lot better than I thought it would be. The thing that hurt the worst was trying to get into and out of the bed. I found that if I stayed in the recliner it was much easier to get up and down. Let someone else have the bed. Sticking to the preop diet made a lot of difference according to Dr T.. No crabcake I didn’t think it was forward, I thought it was a nice gesture of you, thank you. Bboop thanks for the well wishes, I think they helped. TTFN, Keith

Hi Crabcake, Thanks for the offer it was so nice of you. My mom or daughter would stay but I'm trying not to put them out. I just figured if I stayed at the hospital I would not need anyone. I was just wondering what folks that had been through it, thought. Would I be better off to stay 1 night. Thanks, Keith

Hi All, I am 2 days away from my banding 9/20/07. I'm just waiting to wake up and them to say it’s done. I've got a question. I live alone. Would you stay the night in the hospital or go home? It doesn’t change the price and no one would think they had to take care of me. I am kind of leaning in the direction of staying the night. Thanks, Keith

Hi Lottie, Good for you! I think I will like them. I have had a lot of dealings with the hospital there and never had any trouble. What do they require as far as pre diet, and do you need to have been on a doc supervised weight loss plan, things like that? If you want here is my email thehndyman@yahoo.com feel free to use it anytime. Thanks, Keith

I'm still working on getting a date for my band but I am going to take vacation. I can’t call in and take vacation (like I can sick) it has to be scheduled. I also plan on retiring in April 08 and my sick time goes as time worked toward my retirement. I’m at 900 hrs sick time and counting. I also have about 5 weeks vacation. Keith

wadew1976 I just want to say good luck to you. Glad all went well. Keith -
Hi, I just wanted to say hi to all of “ya’ll” out there. I am from the Birmingham, Al area. I currently have a consultation set up and am in the process of getting things in gear to get my band. I’ll just have to see what happens from here. Looking for info on what to expect, watch out for, and anything else that I am clueless about. Keith

Hi Beachgirl, I was in a little different boat than you. My ex was the cheater as well. But being the man I had to pay for everything, she got 1/2 of everything even my retirement (being married 17 years). I pay child support now to the tune of $1200 a month. If she had not forged my name on a car I would have to be paying her alimony. I agreed to pay my child support till my kids got out of college, to benefit my kids. Needless to say she got remarried and now her new hubby don’t work and my child support goes to keep him up. I have to still take care of my kids even though I pay her too (sorry not here to rant, and I do not blame or begrudge my kids I love them with all my heart and will do what I have to do, to see them taken care of ). My point, you being married over 10 years, female, and not working out side the home will put you in the driver’s seat, if you choose to be there. He could possibly have to pay for your lawyer. I would suggest you using a voice activated recorder to catch him verbally abusing you. I will also say once a cheater always a cheater, and once the trust is gone, it can never be fully regained. I tried for 10 years, trust me I know. I have 0 tolerance for cheaters and even less sympathy. I have been single for 6 + years now. I wonder every day why I fought it so hard. Even after paying and losing that much I am so much better off. My kids are great. I see them often 3 to 4 times a week and every weekend. My daughter 19 is in college and my son 17 will be a senior in high school. I see them more now than I did when I was married, because I worked 60 to 80 hrs a week so she could be a stay at home mom. I am closer to them now than when I was married. Life after a divorce is what you make it and I think you can make a lot better life for yourself and be much happier away from someone that keeps dragging you down, I am. Keith -
Hi All, Thanks again to all of you for mking me feel so welcome. Lottie, Medical Center East Is over near Roebuck and Trussville. I have my consultation on July 26 at Trinity. My family has used that hospital for years and it's worked well for us in the past. The people there have always been super nice. Keith

Thanks to all for making me feel welcome!!!! Stacie M: My insurance will pay for bypass but not for the band so I am opting to pay for the band myself. I just don’t want all my plumbing rearranged. Keith
