I was just glad when they didn't hurt anymore! LoL! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    so glad after the 4th

I'd much rather see a post like this than the one where someone is wanting to "forge" test results just to be eligible for the surgery. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Hiccups?

I had them for a few days after and have gotten them a couple of more times. I think it is pretty normal for the early stages of the sleeve from what I have been seeing on here. I was having the same thing and saw tons of threads on here about hiccups! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Digital kitchen scales

I bought one last year from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. It comes with a book and you put in the number of what you are weighing and it gives you the nutrition information. Pretty nifty. I have attache a pic. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Right sided pain...

That is one of the possibilities of this surgery, having gallbladder issues. I had mine out before I was sleeved. Maybe it could be a gas bubble, too. Maybe take some gas-x or something similar and see if it goes away. If it persists, definitely contact your surgeon and find out what it could be. Also, what helped me when I had a flare up, if it is your gallbladder, was walking and take some of your pain meds if it gets too uncomfortable. They prescribed me Lortab before I had mine removed to help with the flare ups. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Right sided pain...

Do you still have your gallbladder? I had those pains when I had mine, but only on flare ups, which were NOT fun!
  8. My gallbladder surgery was so much worse compared to my sleeve surgery! I had gallbladder removed 6 months prior to sleeve surgery. So glad it was done then and not around the same time! I'd be in bad shape! Hope you get better soon!

    Self-pay and post-op problems

I have Aetna and was approved. I also had a co-worker who had the bypass and had major complications and insurance covered that and her skin removal, lift, or whatever she had done with it. She was my go-to person when I decided to take my first steps to do this a year ago. I asked her a lot since I knew she had the same insurance and everything. I don't think you'll have anything to worry about!

    Tons of watermelon

I haven't gotten that far yet, but I know the dietician said I could have melons or peeled fruit once I got to that stage, so don't think it is TOO bad.

    Waiting on Approval from Aetna

I have Aetna and my approval was pretty quick. Went to insurance sometime early May, got approved, signed consent forms on 5/29 and was sleeved 6/17. I hope they get the ball rolling for you soon!

    Gallstones and..sad

Maybe a month tops. I know I had it done on the 12/17 and had my follow-up sometime in January. So not too long of a wait!
  15. I was on my side in the hospital the night of my surgery. I start out a side sleeper, then end up being a stomach sleeper. When I got home and in my own bed, I tried lying on my stomach and was shocked that it didn't hurt! I had gallbladder surgery back in Dec and I couldn't lie on my side or stomach for like a week if not more!

    Gallstones and..sad

Oh no! I didn't have to wait 6 months. I started out with one hospital doing my WLS stuff, but they were dragging their feet in submitting to insurance, when I was trying to figure out what to do, I ended up having gallstones and gallbladder removed 12/17/12, and it just so happened the dr I was referred to also did WLS, so I had to sign release forms for all of my medical records, etc to be transferred from old place to new place, then had to get new blood work and all that good stuff, so to make a long story short, that is why mine was 6 months apart, not because I had to heal for that long! So sorry for the confusion!

    June surgery dates

I haven't had issues swallowing gel caps and it didn't have a side note or anything. I'm sure if we couldn't, they would have probably said something or had on there to squeeze it out. I have Prilosec that my surgeon prescribed and it is a capsule and no issues there either.

I know gelcaps were on my pre-op shopping list, so if they weren't, I wouldn't have known either! Hope your fever goes away soon!
