South Louisiana Sleevers?

I felt the same when I went to the ER for my gallbladder. I was in some bad pain and was like, "If this is a gas bubble, they are gonna laugh at me." Ended up being tiny gallstones. Got surgery scheduled and then 5 days before surgery one of the stones decided to go explore and pancreatitis set in and had to wait until that went away before they could take gallbladder out. I would go just to be on the safe side because all of that was not fun AT ALL! Sent from my iPhone using VST

I say try gas-x to see if it will go away. If not, definitely go to ER to make sure it isn'f anything else. Better safe than sorry! Sent from my iPhone using VST

South Louisiana Sleevers?
Corky6984 replied to EllaJo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine with Dr. Redmann in Slidell on 6/17. At my post op, which was 6/25, I was down 10lbs! Trying not to get too obsessed with weighing at home! Ha! Glad to see a lot worked out with Ochsner! I started with them and after I was done with my stuff, they never sent it off to insurance! Justine was my dietician and I really liked her as well! I ended up switching to Dr. Redmann after my gallbladder decided to act up, got stuff transferred and was ready to go! Good luck to everyone on your weight loss! Sent from my iPhone using VST -
It could be the gas, but could also be gallbladder. I had sharp pains in my back when I had my gallbladder and at that tine, I thought it was just a gas bubble. Felt like it, but it wasn't. Try some gas-x or something similar to see if it goes away. If it persists, contact your dr. Gallbladder problems is one of the side effects of this surgery. I have seen some people on here say they weren't informed of that, which surprises me because my surgeon did address it with me, but since I had mine out in Dec, I didn't have to worry about that. I'm hoping for your sake it is just gas and will work its way out and the pain will go away! Sent from my iPhone using VST

I thought the same thing when I was gonna have my gallbladder surgery and when I had this one as well. I also thought what if I wake up? I guess it is hard not to think about it because it is there, but everything turned out okay! You'll be fine! Sent from my iPhone using VST

Should it Stay or Should it Go! (My Fat)
Corky6984 replied to the-Russ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had like 5 appts in one day and they were all in the same place to get lab work, EKG, chest x-ray, and dietician visit. If everything is in one place, you can knock out a lot in one. Also, I made mine work around my work schedule and your job can't tell you that you can't go to a doctor's appt no matter how many you have. Sent from my iPhone using VST -

Completely different than what I had to do. Another crazy thing! Same insurance, different requirements. Mine took a year, but only because of my switching facilities and then my dang gallbladder. So glad it is all done! Sent from my iPhone using VST -

Could be the shock of the surgery. I had gallbladder surgery in December and I had my period 2 weeks before and a day after surgery, I had another. I was FREAKING OUT because that was my first surgery ever, so I thought I was bleeding from the inside or something! LoL! I had 2 periods again the next month, and the next I was back to normal. They even told me if it didn't stop or anything to see my OB/GYN. I was like, "Y'all are the ones who did it to me!" Ha! Sent from my iPhone using VST

As long as they stay on top of the ball and keep it rolling. I guess you could try calling and if they say they can't, then schedule the appt with your PCP. If they do it on November 1st, you will be well enough to enjoy your Christmas. I had to do 4 months supervised dietician visits, psych consult, then labs. I ended up switching surgeons because the first set didn't keep the ball rolling and after the first surgeon finally got my records transferred, I was approved and having surgery in like less than 2 months. Every insurance is different. I have Aetna and I really didn't have a PCP before my gallbladder issue. I never went to dr unless I was very sick. I did go after my gallbladder for a checkup and he said I was completely healthy. Crazy! I still did surgery and not once did the PCP thing come up. I would talk to him/her about what you want to do and give your reasoning. Not sure why they would be against it. Sent from my iPhone using VST -

Awesome news. Little secret, I didn't let me PCP know and was still cleared. Good luck, though! Sent from my iPhone using VST -

Yeah, I had an attack and went to ER, found out I had stones, got surgery scheduled because they were tiny, so no rush. Couple of weeks later one of those dang stones wanted to explore my insides, gave me pancreatitis, and got it taken out 2 days before scheduled surgery date. I am so glad it was done then because I'm not sure I would have done well with that ON TOP of being sleeved at the same time! Sent from my iPhone using VST -

Yup. Gallbladder causes horrible pains and is one of the huge side effects of this surgery. I went to ER twice before mine was removed. Worse thing ever. Definitely go get checked out. You will be happier and pain free! Sent from my iPhone using VST -
I was on birth control and was told to be off it a month before my surgery and a month after. I was horrified that I was gonna have my issue that I had for being put on birth control in the first place, but so far so good. I will be starting back on it July 17th, which is exactly a month after my surgery. Sent from my iPhone using VST

I only had to do Clear Liquids the day before surgery, so I guess you could say I really didn't have one either. Sent from my iPhone using VST
