Tanya I so feel for you! I was sleeved on 6/19/13... I still can not tolerate most meats. About 5 weeks after surgery I had complete regret for one day. That is all I allowed myself. I got online, found high protein options and started to test new foods out. I found a sugar free custard that really boosted my protein intake! Then went on to try other varieties. Pumpkin custard. Apple custard. All sugar free. I use premiere chocolate protein shakes and absolutely force myself to sip throughout the day. Egg salad with low fat mayo ( I can not tolerate scrambled eggs, vomit every time). There is so much you can tolerate! You just have to take the time for yourself and find what they are! Good luck, hope to keep in touch, your story sounds like mine. -

Hang in there. I have read on other forums stories of people, many people who actually gained the week of surgery. Talk to your surgeon and nutritionist. They may have ideas for you. I spoke with mine this week about my weight loss since surgery, he was very happy with my loss and explained that I will probably lose more quickly when I get back to normal daily activity. I do not know what diet plan they have recommended, I follow a 70g protein diet. I eat my protein first and may have a bite or two of a veggie, if I have room after protein! I have protein shakes in between meals. Good luck, I know it is hard, week 3 I only lost 2 pounds and I was devastated! We all lose differently but we have all had the same emotions at one point! Still trying to figure out this forum and how to post to certain people!! Thank you so much for the thoughtful replies. I think the hunger pain I was feeling was more heartburn/reflux. Never had it before! So three weeks and one day since surgery. Still can't tolerate cream soups or puréed meat, causes instant fullness and discomfort. I feel I am doing well, no blood sugars over 100!!! Not quite sure how I am doing weight loss wise. I am down 17 pounds.....

I agree that travel so soon wouldn't be in your best interest! The risk of clots (DVT) will be higher with travel. I know it can be hard to focus on you. It has been very hard for me to focus on myself! This is your time, do what you need to do to become the healthiest mom/wife/teacher that you can be!! It doesn't last forever, when you are healed and feeling wonderful it will be worth the sacrifice. I wish you well :-)

Thank you all... I just hope the feeling goes away soon! Other than that I feel great.

I have to ask... Does anyone have hunger pain. Like empty stomach pain??? I am no where near hungry but it feels like hunger pain! The pain meds help.... Will this go away when my stomach is healed? I was sleeved on the 19th.

I have had great luck with the classic chocolate protein powder from unjury. I use two scoops of powder to one cup of skim milk for 26g of protein per serving! For others who have posted, can you get SMART other places than Costco?? I am a week out of surgery and looking for more options!

Don't forget, fertility increases with rapid weight loss as well!!

I am five days out and feel great! I am only getting some abdominal pain towards the end of the day or if I take too big a sip of water! Great to hear you are doing well also!!!
