Over 400Lbs Gastric Sleeve Success Story
BKLYN replied to jasminem89's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello fellow VSG'ers. I feel like THE biggest and youngest (18) of the group. I'm 6'2 and my highest weight was 538. On surgery day I got down to 514 and now 2 weeks out I'm 484. It's a big feat but I still have 230 pounds to go to my goal. I've started exercising (walking 30-60 minutes a day). I've been feeling so great since the procedure. I walk easier, I don't get winded. I don't crave food as much as I used to. I can walk longer and farther than I used to and I'm sooo excited for this journey. -
HEY! Another 27th-er. I was in the ICU for 4 days after surgery, released yesterday. I've been drinking as much as I can. Diet Snapple, LowCal Gatorade, water and beef broth. Jello right now is kind of iffy because it kkinda hurts after a while but it goes away. The only pain I have is from my largest incision and the area surrounding it. Other than that, i'm feeling fab. Just hope I don't get dehydrate, 2oz an hour is killing me.

I was sleeved August 27th. Seriously..what a day that was... First, I get there and told that there would be a delay, I was scheduled for 12, cam in at 9 and had my procedure at 5pm. SO then, I come out of surgery and I was told that my blood pressure went up to the 200s and I had to be put in the ICU, I was there for about 4 days on several IV's drips. On top of that, my right hand is swollen due to an IV infiltration. It's not as painful as it was before but it's hard to open and closed my hand due to all the swelling. Right now, I'm home, laying on my bed. I haven't had much pain except for when i'm sit or stand up around the largest incision area. I'm feeling great, still a little groggy due the BP meds but I'm hoping for the best!

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
BKLYN replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I lost someone I thought was my bestfriend. He and I were very close, for 3 years. We hung out and talked all the time. He was even the first person I told about having surgery and he was so supportive. Now, If I see him on the street, it's a "what's up" or "Hey, D" and that's it. That's the straw. I miss him all the time but yet, I want him to suffer. Is it selfish of me? I guess. I have surgery next week (8/27) and I'm so ready for this change. -
9 more days people!!!

My gas pains and hunger have gotten so much better. I switched to spiru-tein protein shakes. Less fiber, more protein. The cookie dough flavor is so good.

Woop! I'm August 27th, just started my pre-op pure liquid diet and I swear, I'm hittin the bathroom every 2 hours. It's torture but I know it's worth it. I'm already seeing my face, thighs and stomach slim down. The first day was horrible, so much gas D;.
