Are you going through insurance? How did you get approved before all the required testing? -
Just had surgery this morning.

Congrats on your surgery! I am originally from Rockland, lived in Nanuet. My brother still lives there. I wish you luck in the coming weeks as you get acclimated to your new sleeve! -
Thinkgs are moving along so fast all of a sudden.

Today I had my pulmonary doc visit. He was very candid and told me right off the bat I would definitely get clearance for the surgery, not to worry. I kind of had the feeling I was moving through a conveyor belt. I am scheduled for the sleep apnea test in 2 wks. I have to have a chest X-ray, blood work and another breathing test the day before. The. The following week I will have the endoscopy. Sometime between now and then I need to have an upper GI series. Never had one, not even sure which doc sends me for that, but I will find out. I am also halfway through my 3 month supv weight loss... Things are suddenly happening so fast wi all the required procedures lumped up in the same week. I am suddenly filled with a little apprehension. I have always had this feeling I may die a tragic death, and now am wondering if this will be it. Will I croak on the table...who will tell my son and more importantly, WHO is going to carry me off the operating table. I know its crazy thinking, but I cant help it. I suddenly am starting to feel a bit of anxiety. I think I need a hot fudge sundae. -
I'm loving this recipe!! Trying it this weekend.

Ok??? So where's the recipe, or are you just teasing us?

What was your original date? I have my egd (edg) whichever is correct, scheduled for the week of labor day. I go to the pulmo doc tomorrow and will schedule the sleep apnea test same week. Man, things are starting to come together...scaring the kerrrrap outta me! -
Well, I guess this is going to be my gastric sleeve story.

Welcome Travis! I wish you luck in your journey. It's a crazy ride so make sure you hang on. I have an appt with a gastro doc tomorrow morning and on wed with the pulmo doc, once i get their clearances i just have another month and a halff of supv weightloss and then i can get autho from my insurance. I can say I am sedentary, but in the last few weeks I have started walking and I just bought a road bike today, so I plan on riding bike every night after work. What are your goals?? Are you on supv weight loss now?? How are you preparing for the pre op liquid diet!? (One of my fears) -
So what was their reaction?? You look fabulous! Hope you had a great time.

Thank you CMW, i have this printed out and filed with my paperwork from the bariatric doc. At my initial appt, i brought it in to review with the PA. Om a side note I think its crazy that Cigna doesnt consider the removal of excess skin for psych reasons medically necessary. In this country, we place too little importance on the psychological well being of our citizens.

Holy cow, I have Cigna and will have to look at my PCP Letter. You should be able to do the last month of supv WL. I am into my 2nd week of the 2nd month. I have one question. Did you have to submit a food diary?? I am keeping a hard copy as well as one o line, in case they need it. Did you do 60 days of Supv weight loss?? If you log into mycigna.com and type in weight loss surgery, you will get pages and pages of the requirements for cigna to approve. Good luck.

Any October sleevers?

I have the same type job. Never leave my desk. I pack a lunch or have delv or I dont eat. Do you have a kitchen at work? We do, so I bought one of those single serve blenders to mix my Protein drinks. You could do that. I plan on stacking my desk with high protein foods. Peanut Butter, my Protein shakes, i have yogurts in the fridge at work. I am sure I will come up with other items. Read some of the posts on daily intakes to get some ideas about how you can fit protein in. I've been going throught them to vary my menu. Good luck with your appt. let us know how it goes. -
I am still pre op. insurance requires 3 month supv weight loss program and I am 1.5 months into that. First month I lost 5 lbs. i thought that was great for me considering my eating habits were atrocious and I all but killed my metabolism. I was only eating once a day, usually around 6 - 8 pm at night with 2 cups of coffee in the morning. Maybe once or twice a wk I would get a sandwich chips and soda at about 2 am. Then I started month 1 of the supv diet. I actually expected to gain weight the first month, while my metabolism was attempting to find itself, but miraculously, I lost the 5 lbs. now here I am 2 weeks into the 2nd month and I dont feel like I lost an ounce. My clothes still feel the same fit as always so it isnt that I may be losing inches. The thing is, I wont weigh myself since no 2 scales are the same. I am just waiting until my appt with the NUT to get weighed and find out. I just feel nothing is happening. I even started walking, ALOT, and as soon as I recuperate from an awfully painful pinched nerve, I plan on adding another form of exercise. I think I am just feeling sorry for myself and wanted to vent.

Getting going is the hardest part! The days I dont want to ealk are the days I walk the hardest and the longest. You'll get there.

Thank you!! It does seem like something I would enjoy. I am going to give it a shot.

I have a question for you. You seem to be the fitness expert around here so hoping you can help :-) What do you know about tabata exercise??
