Yes, we are friends on mfp.....get your butt back on there girlfriend! It really does help me keep on track. You will get past this. Just focus on what you're eating and exercise and eventually, the pounds have to come off.

    light headed

I was having dizzy spells and blotchy vision. It was low blood sugar for me. I would drink 1/2 cup of apple juice or orange juice and it cleared right up.
  3. Do you have a support group or nutritionist you can go to? If not, you can try going back to Protein shakes for a week or 2 to re-set your body. Exercise, drink your Water and maybe keep a food journal. I like my fitness pal. It keeps track of calories, protein and water. Don't beat yourself up. You've had a rough year. You can do this! Get yourself back on track and you'll feel so much better! Good luck to you!

    July sleevers please check in..

Sorry you're having a hard time. don't forget you've lost over 70 pounds and that's awesome for 5 months! I lost 45 pounds before I had the surgery, so since surgery my loss is 75 pounds. I also stalled for about 3 weeks when I started going to the gym. After talking with my nut, I discovered I wasn't eating enough calories. I was eating 400-600 calories and 35-40 grams of Protein. She had me increase my calories to 800-1000 and my protein to 60+ grams. Since doing that the weight started coming off again. Don't get me wrong, my weight goes up and down, but eventually the down is a loss. I try to exercise at least 5 days a week and keep track of my food in my fitness pal. If you want to add me my user name is presmariazoe. I find keeping track of my food helps me stay focused on what I'm eating and how much protein I'm getting. I also make sure to drink at least 8 cups of Water every day. I don't use Protein shakes anymore, but at our support group they do suggest using them if you're stalled for awhile. Some people use them daily, but I just can't stand them any more! Hang in there and if you want to ask me anything else, feel free to pm me. Remember, it's a learning process. Everybody has to find what works for their body.

    I Lost ******* in 2013

I had my sleeve on July 29, 2013. I lost a total of 120 pounds in 2013! I also lost my cpap machine, blood pressure meds along with all other prescriptions! The only thing I'm on now is vitamins! It was a bumpy road in the beginning, but I can honestly say that this was one of the best decisions I have ever made! My husband also had wls (gastric bypass) in September 2013 and has lost 94 pounds to date! We feel so much younger and full of energy now! It feels so awesome to be doing this as a team. I look forward to reaching my goal in 2014. Not sure what that is yet. I used to focus on numbers, but now I'm trying to listen to my body and how I feel to decide! It's not about a number on the scale or a certain size anymore and that feels great! Our surgeon's office has an annual celebration for their patients. They have asked us to be guest speakers at the next one in March! I'm so excited and honored about it. The old me hated talking in public, but I'm going to face my fear and hopefully knock it out of the park! I wish you all a healthy and happy 2014!!!!

    July sleevers please check in..

Had my sleeve on July 29th, so I'm 5 months out. Starting weight 295 Surgery weight 250 Current weight 178 Goal weight is 160 Total weight loss is 117 pounds!! I love my sleeve! I have a totally new relationship with food now. It doesn't feel like a drug anymore, just food. I never knew that feeling before. Gosh, I hope that doesn't go away!! I do exercise about 5-6 days a week, which I believe is what is keeping the weight loss going. It has slowed down a lot, but still going down eventually. It goes up and down and up and down, but eventually the down is lower. I'm 18 pounds from my goal and trying to prepare myself mentally for this. My life always revolved around trying to lose weight and I'm not sure what I'll do when it's not!! Oh, I know the work is never done. Maintaining the weight loss will be work too, but I've never actually made it to goal before and I'm soooo looking forward to it!! Anyway, I pray everyone has a blessed 2014. I think it will be the best year of our lives!!!

I'm 13 days out... Purée help!

Every doctor is different, but mine listed puréed foods as liquids that can pour out of a bowl. Some examples are strained or puréed soups, applesauce, blenderized soft or canned fruit, yogurt without fruit pieces (they recommended Yoplait light). Hope this helps!

    Almost Passout Everytime I stand

    Low blood sugar?

    Post op 12/16/13

How about sugar free ice pops? They saved me after my surgery. Water tasted gross to me after the surgery, but it passed and tastes fine now. I'm almost 5 months out.

    Bad breath

I also used sugar free mints for that nasty breath in the beginning. They never said we couldn't have sugar free gum, but I'm too scared of swallowing it by accident. Not sure what they would have to do if that happens and I do not want to find out!! LOL
  13. Welcome! Sleep apnea diagnosis was the last straw for me too. When they told me my breathing was compromised 56 times an hour I cried the whole day because I knew I did that to myself. I also had high blood pressure. I'm happy to report that after my surgery on July 29th, I am no longer on bp meds and off the cpap machine already!!

    Reactive Hypoglycemia

I have become hypoglycemic since my sleeve surgery. Right after the surgery it would happen frequently. I would drink 1/2 cup of apple juice and it would pass. Light headed, blotchy vision and dizziness. Very scary. For 2 months I had no problem. I started going to the gym and kicked up my workouts and it started again. I guess the increased exercise triggered it. I spoke with my nutritionist and she said some people do develop hypoglycemia after the surgery. I needed to make some changes to my diet. I have to eat every 2 1/2-3 hours (5-6 times a day). I also had to add more complex carbs to my diet. She also said I wasn't eating enough calories before. I averaged 400-600. Now, doing the 5-6 smaller meals I can get up to 800-1000 calories, which is where she said I should be at this point. My surgery was just over 4 months ago. It's only been about a week since I started the changes and I honestly feel better already. Good luck to you!
  15. Wow! You look totally awesome! Congrats!!!

    Reasons to be cheerful!

Woo hoo!! Way to go! Great job!!!
  17. I would try to stick to liquids or puréed foods for a few days. I'm 3 months out and am still on puréed. I felt like it would never get better too, but the past week I have been feeling much better. Less nauseous and able to eat and drink better. Some people just need more time, and don't forget you had a second surgery to recover from. Best of luck to you.......

Did nerves ever mess with your period?

Absolutely! I didn't have a problem before surgery, but got it in the hospital after the surgery and it wasn't even due. The nurses said its common from the stress on our bodies. The next month I got it a week early too....... What we women have to go through!! Lol
  19. I seem to have this underlying fear of returning to my old habits. I keep having dreams of eating things I shouldn't and drinking diet soda. I wake up feeling so guilty and have to remind myself it was only a dream! I just started puréed foods on 10/18 because I had a leak and was on tpn for 4 weeks. So, I really had nothing but clear liquids and protein shakes for almost 3 months. That's when the fear started showing up. I guess I'm just so afraid of failing yet again. I know this time is different, but it's hard to kick that demon out of my brain! I've been doing great as far as weight loss goes. I lost a total of 98.6 pounds. 45 before surgery and 53.6 since surgery. Maybe I can use the underlying fear as a tool to keep me on track. Just wondering if anyone else out there feels like this too.
