    I've Hit The Dreaded 3-Week Stall...ugh!

I feel like the only person who is weighing monthly, is that super weird of me? My first weigh in is this Thursday, the 12th and I'm not looking forward to it at all!

You are all going to do great! Nothing to be freaked out about, you are in wonderful hands.
  3. My post op diet isn't specific to these liquids as to when I can have them, and I'm a fan of both as low cal condiments. My food "restrictions" are lifted on December 22nd and I'm curious if either of them could cause trouble for my sleeve. Any of your experiences would be very appreciated

    Food Intolerance

Mhm! Unfortunately I've had to put weight loss on the side burner in favor of hydration of any kind. The icier it is the better. I freeze milk, juice, get low cal options on the go, anything to prevent dehydration cause I do not wanna end up in the hospital!

I'm with you here except for two things (the two things I want/need). My stomach will NOT tolerate water or protein shakes. I've gotten too full too fast but other than that my sleeve gives me no issue unless I try to drink water or shakes. It's slowly getting better (ill be a month out on Thursday) but so far that's been one of the biggest hurdles.

    Hot Sauce/vinegar?

I dunno, I feel like I have taken some liberty with my sleeve (some things were honestly a bad choice and I paid for it). Chili has been approved on my post op since puréed, and maybe I'm the only rebel here but aside from drinks, I didn't purée anything, I was so excited to chew I just chewed everything into mush hahahaha
  7. So I haven't been able to even sip protein shakes without throwing them back up since surgery. I know they are an integral part of my post op but I'm saying NO NO NO to them, no matter how I try to dress them up or down my body refuses to allow it in. Anyone else with this issue? If you're further out (I'm only two weeks post op) how long did it take til you could drink them again?

    Hot Sauce/vinegar?

Used both sriracha and red vinegar yesterday together. No issues and it tasted so good!

:/ I'm sorry B2B, hope it does indeed pass soon!

    Hot Sauce/vinegar?

sounds awesome, I'll have to definitely look to see if I can get them here. Are they tasty??

Hope you are feeling much better today B2B!! Eating, though scary, will help. Hopefully you were able to get something down!

    Hot Sauce/vinegar?

I know I started this thread about condiments and have now taken it in a million directions (but who wants to start a million threads?? Not me!) but has any other post ops been scared to weigh themselves? I really don't want to so I told my family I was going to weigh once a month to avoid obsessing about stalls and what not. I know most people weigh daily or weekly. Well my one month is coming up (December 12th >.<) and I am feeling like I don't even want to step on the scale then!! Something must be wrong with me.

Lol I don't drink any alcohol if any kind but let me know results regardless! I'm holding you to it.

    Hot Sauce/vinegar?

Oh ok, it's a comfort level thing more than anything. I don't believe in tummy explosions I heard from some that carbonated drinks (aside from possibly stretching out the sleeve) makes you feel like you're having a heart attack!! Any merit to that in your experience (look at me, assuming you've tried soda post surgery lol).

    Hot Sauce/vinegar?

Another thing I don't understand is: why no drinking with straws after you're healed? I accidentally took a drink from a straw and then held the liquid in my mouth til and opened it so I didn't swallow any extra air. That got me thinking. I understand the science behind the no carbonation thing (wonder if an orange soda now and then would hurt so bad then shakes out the bad thoughts), the the straw thing has me baffled.

    Hot Sauce/vinegar?

Yeah, I am still a week or two away from even attempting I think, but always meat first!

I love pho! Pfft waistline or no, I'll be chowing down on some of the noodles, when I'm cleared to at least!

Ooo! Another question, does soup count as eating and drinking at the same time?? *ponders*

    Protein Powder Blues

Sweet and ice cold seems to work for everything but protein shakes. I'll have to try the unflavored stuff but so far haven't found any in my city. Guess I'll be forced to order some

    Hot Sauce/vinegar?

Thanks Laura Hot sauce has never really effected me, sriracha is my best friend and never have problem BMs after like some of my poor white friends lol! I'll make sure to take it slow, just was worried about irritating the incision on my stomach

You'll do great! And yes, you will hate the liquid purge as we all do but think, a year from now, you won't even remember this part

A day away from three weeks out and a week out from wisdom teeth extraction and I'm doing really well! Especially since I'm now into my purée stage and at first I had to force myself to eat. But now I look forward to my protein snacks lol dark meat chicken and fish are MIRACLES.
