It's not just an antibiotic, there's an antacid and one other pill. The sleeve may not be healed enough to handle the meds at one time.

I had H Pylori and a hiatal hernia as well but it was found prior to surgery during my endoscopy. I had to take an antibiotic as well as an antacid for 2 weeks straight. Prior to that, I had no problems or previous stomach issues. My surgeon said it was probably not a major problem and it may have been a long time before it could have become a problem. I'm not even sure how long I had it but I'm glad it was treatable!

Thanks so much!! I'm excited, nervous...every emotion I can feel I'm going through them all! They're calling for a major snowstorm in the Philadelphia area Sunday night into Monday...6-12 inches of snow so I'm praying I get to the hospital safely and everything goes as planned!! I'll be thinking of you all who are also scheduled Monday and am hoping to post as soon as I can!

I have 2 weeks of the Optifast shakes. My surgeon said the pre-op diet is to make sure your liver shrinks. It makes the surgery easier for them. -
Just received my surgery date 3/3! I like Muscle Milk. I'm also going to try Body Fortress next. I heard that one is good as well.

February/March 2014 sleevers
smjnewme replied to rebeccasams's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello all...I'm officially joining the group! My paperwork has been with Cigna (has been since 1/15) and I'm just waiting from them on whether or not I am approved. I also have my surgical clearance appointment tomorrow. I'm excited, nervous, & ready all at the same time!! Hoping for an end of Feb or beginning of March date! -
Luckyme2g, I feel your pain! I just found out I had it as well last week and I have my 2nd sleep study on the 19th. I'm starting to notice little things too now that I've been diagnosed with it. I just want to not feel tired and not get the migraines anymore! Hope things get better for you once you get your cpap!

Hello! My name is Shauna and I started my sleeve journey on my Birthday 7/10/13....I've been thinking about getting the sleeve for sometime now but had my surgeon consultation on that date after deciding now was the time to make the change to get the weight off so I can live for me! I am almost done my pre-op process. I only have my pulmonary clearance left to get. I just found out I have mild sleep apnea so I have to get tested with the cpap machine then within a month if all goes well, I should get my clearance. (YAY!!) This process has been interesting for me because I've found out about a number of issues that I have but wouldn't have known about had I not decided to have this surgery. Looking forward to making new friends who are going through or have been through this process as well!
