    having anxiety :(

My husband started tearing up when I had him sign my advance directive. That hit home for me and I started crying too. It is a roller coaster of emotions for me too. Mine is 4 days from now....

  3. Mine is on Friday. Focus on something you have always wanted to be able to wear or do and keep thinking about it to keep youself motivated. I have always wanted to shop at white house black market. I keep imagining myself shopping in there post op! Keep me posted my sleeve buddy!
  4. Measuring is a great idea! I will do that too.

    is this normal?

I learned that sometimes if I was able to overeat with my band it really wasn't in my stomach at all but backed up in the esophagus stretching it out. Kind of freaked me out. I had no idea. I think what the other people have said makes sense. But it also makes no sense to beat yourself up about a slip up either. Just pick yourself up and keep on going. You can do it!

    Vomitted yellow

Bile for sure. And that sucks cause I know it burns like hell when it comes up. Did they give you something for nausea or acid reflux?
  7. Hmmm. We are union too but it still doesn't sound right. Ask for everything in writing. Many times you are dealing with a clerk with a high school education. Escalate it if you need too to the union rep or contract specialist.
  8. Blue cross has them. That is who I had when I got my band. Call blue cross directly and ask.
  9. Absolutely. Go big or go home right??????
  10. Sending positive thoughts and hugs your way! Keep us updated!

A1c needs to be below 8.,,

Weight loss surgery has been proven to treat diabetes successfully. Appeal the decision. I'm a case manager for Kaiser so I know....
  12. No doubt about the high residual costs in maintaining a band. What most people don't realize is that the band was never designed to be permanent. Yep you heard me right. Were you told this? Me neither. Such a high failure rate. Imagine the backlash if pace makers failed at the same rate???????
  13. My advice is to document in writing every diet every gimmick every plan every exercise fad etc you have ever tried. It all counts. You will need a physical exam with labs initially to check and verify your health status. Many insurance companies have case managers and even ones who are bariatric case managers. Call your insurance company and ask if you can be connected with one. Your primary doctor can also refer you. How do I know? I'm a case manager RN for Kaiser. Try it and let me know....

    Anyone on Friday June 28

    Yep. Two at one time.
  17. Good bye Lane Bryant. Thank you for all these years of being the primarily only place I could shop where things would actually fit me. Although I will miss my favorite sales lady, I will likely no longer fit only in your clothes. I am so excited to have the freedom to expand my shopping choices and not feel like I live on the edges of society. I know I exist but it seems the majority of stores don't know or maybe they don't care I do. Even Target used to have a much larger selection for plus size. So I bid you adieu my faithful Lane Bryant.
  18. I'm sure its only a matter of time. The vag mesh commericials only had a 20% failure rate. The band is much much higher than that. Add to that all the misinformation these fly by night clinics give you. We will wait and see....

    Anyone on Friday June 28

Yes but only because my band slipped and I can't tolerate any thing else.
  20. Nursebarbie

  21. Hey don't be thinking like that! It will go smoothly as planned. Think positive! Its more fun than being negative, unless of course we are talking about my ex husband!!!

    Bye bye Lane Bryant!

That's funny about those real woman dollars.....think I still have some left. Always forgot to use them in time.
  24. I had to do 4 weeks of clear liquid diet before my lap band surgery and 4 weeks post op. Miserable. However, the first time trying to eat a forbidden food it got stuck really stuck hurt like hell and since then I am nervous about any thing that may get stuck. Waiting for band to come out this Friday and get the almighty sleeve. A lot of people I know do the last supper before surgery. Normal I think after nobody gets fat because they hate food right?
