We have so many reasons to feel down on ourselves. Who feels like working out when you have poor nutrition going on? It will be better this time around. -
Uggh. Nausea back tonight.

My body is just out of wack. I can take 1 oz of cream of wheat and 2 oz of water this morning ok. It sounds like a party in my belly. Everything is waking up. -

I am down 20 pounds. I lose about a pound a day. Protein comes from food sources cannot stand shakes. Not getting enough in but my doctor says that is ok my stomach is still healing. Soon I will be able to get more in. He says just do what I can. -
lets be honest, 1 week post op

Just hang in there. This is a marathon not a sprint. I had the experience of dealing with a lapband first and know all too well how horrible it feels to get something stuck. One of these times it will happen to you (we all have to do it at least once) and then you will start moving away from this practice. Try getting a hawaiian shave ice maker and use the sugar free syrup. Its really good and feels like a treat. -
Referred pain. Walking and moving helps.

If you pop open your staples inside and cause a leak they cannot go in and stitch it back up. You have to lay in the hospital for months while scar tissue forms to seal it off. You will be fed by IV food nothing by mouth. My surgeon scared me to say the least. -

Sleeved on the 28th and I still can't get in all the liquids and almost zero protein. My surgeon says don't worry it will happen and to focus first on the liquid intake. -
Just a question.

Sleeved on the 28th was going to go back this coming Tuesday but I am just too tired and struggling still with liquids and food. I am taking another 2 weeks off. I filed for state disability here in california which gives me about 70 percent of my income which is what I get after taxes. Maybe that's an options for you ask your doctor they have the paperwork. -
Am I crazy? Puree stage, i oscillate between starving and VERY full !
Nursebarbie replied to Disco's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved the 28th and had my band removed same time. Just started the pureed stage 2 days ago. First day was ok. Yesterday got nauseous which is still happening now. Its like a eat a whole cow instead of one tablespoon of refried beans. Hate shakes I gag too. I have never been a fan of milk drinking so its hard to drink any kind of shakes. Is there a low carb smoothie I can have? Maybe I could tolerate that. Anyhow you and I are in the same boat and all we can do is row or sink. -

Aww thanks. I do have all three and find phenergan works the best too. Didn't work last night. Still feel yucky this morning. I even got up at 4am and took a reglan which didn't do anything. The baby tummy is colicky I guess. -
Anyone on Friday June 28
Nursebarbie replied to EllaJo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ate refried beans yesterday and have been sick all night with nausea. My new baby tummy is very tempermental. I was upgraded 2 days ago to pureed mushy foods which included peanut butter of creamy types. Its good protein my surgeon said. Haven't tried it yet. This morning my tummy is still kinda upset. -

Really girls. It doesn't help to blame yourself. If all you could get down for years was sliders otherwise you would throw up how is that your fault? -

The crapband is a crappy medical device with horrible outcomes. Nobody blames a patient who's hip implant fails so don't blame yourself. Mine was slipped and just removed on the 28th and sleeved same time. Get that thing out you have no idea what's its doing inside of your body until they go in and look. My surgeon has a book of photos he took of so called failed bands and the damage they do "silently" to your body. -
Do you ever look at what another person is eating and think, wow that is A LOT of food? My husband ordered the waldorf salad at marie callendars and it looked like enough food for 10 people. I used to eat that and the cornbread too. I'm noticing how supersized our world is. No wonder people get fatter here.
-
I'm sure people wouldn't appreciate it at first. I've thought about that a lot. If someone told me I should do it I would be offended. Its too bad because this is useful information.

I found it on amazon.com. under gastric sleeve.

Consequences of no protein

I was told it was less likely to lose hair with the sleeve vs bypass because its a restrictive wls vs malabsorptive. But I heard some do lose some hair. I am hoping for me it doesn't happen. -
Found it on amazon in hardcover and also got a book called " now I'm sleeved now what?" Should be here in a week.

Portions are so huge everywhere. I am became more aware after I got a lapband. Now its like a neon sign. This is what's wrong with our culture. Its the idea of what constitutes a normal portion size. Does anyone really need to drink 32 ounces of any kind of soda? And to think I used to eat like that wow. What a wake up call. I thought I was just eating like everyone else and you know what? I was. I just couldn't metabolize it or sweat it off like the thinner people.
-
What's the name of the other book you got?
-
My husband is from the philippines and when his parents came over for our wedding last year, they were shocked how big the portions are here.
