Its very early still to say that this was a waste. Having no coexisting conditions now is no guarantee it won't happen later on. Not a question of it as one of when it will happen. Give yourself some time to heal. I'm post op 2 weeks and still out of work and home sick. So I feel where you are coming from. Again I will reiterate what my surgeon said last week, the ones who struggle the most are among the most successful. Hang in there ok?

I lightly salt my water and have been for past 6 months for my adrenal issues. Goes down easier than plain water or I make sun tea. Adding a fresh lemon slice helps too. -
Yes. This surgery can cause hormonal changes.

Please don't take both gatorade AND the potassium pills. It will be dangerous. Lethal injection on death row is by potassium injection since it affects the heart. Since tomorrow is a weekday I would give your primary doctor a call. Maybe you don't need your bp meds or need lower dose. Plain water won't kill you. Like another fellow nurse said it takes literally gallons of water to cause water intoxication or a problem called SIADH (pituitary). Please be safe. More is not better. -
Well I have been battling horrible intermittent nausea past 2 weeks post op. Finally figured out that since I have no feelings of being hungry, I was waiting way too long between eating, and thus got hypoglycemic and nauseous. So today I've been more on the ball and its much better. I'm sticking to bland foods which seem to sit better in my baby tummy. It is so weird to not feel hungry. Thought I would post about it incase it helps someone else experiencing post op nausea like me.

I didn't regret what I did but I have a very passive aggressive mother who had to watch my 12 yr old while I went back and forth in the hospital post op. She would say things like how could you be so selfish etc. I cried for the first 2 weeks because of comments like that and because I was so sick and in the hospital and couldn't take care of my daughter. Two years ago I was still living post divorce with my parents. I went to get the lapband in and my parents ignored me for 2 weeks. I had been so sick I drove myself to the hospital. And when she had to watch my daughter for 3 days she would call me everyday to check myself out and come home. So of course when my band slipped and I had the sleeve done she had all the told you so's in the world. Thankfully I am remarried and my husband is a great supporter. Even with all this dysfunctional nonsense my only regret was getting the crapband first. Wish I had known about the sleeve.

It will be a year in August since my wedding. We didn't go on a honeymoon for a variety of reasons so our Best Man bought us an all expenses paid trip to Cabo San Lucas. We are finally going for our 1st anniversary. The problem is my surgery wasn't preplanned so we weren't expecting me to be still be post op pureed diet during our trip. I'm already trying to think about what I can eat- eggs, Beans. Will I be eating huevos rancheros all day long?

Wls helps fertility and people who never could get pregnant can get pregnant much more easily. I'm seeing a fertility doctor and both he and my surgeon said the same thing. Susposed to start my period anytime so let's see what happens.

It seems to vary widely so I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe you have less internal postop swelling than some of us like me. Just keep to the portion sizes because otherwise it could cause problems with the staples pulling. -

Old navy is a great place to shop! -
And maybe don't give up on God. I find it helpful to light a candle at church and say a prayer.

I really like doing something in remembrance of your son like the prior poster said. Maybe do plant a little garden or donate a book shelf and some of his fav books to a local son. A friend who's son died at age 3 did this at our school.

Many surgeons will see you for cash pay status because they kn ow they cannot legally abandon you just because you don't have insurance. Call his office. -
I can sleep but have weird dreams and wake up super early.

How fast should I be able to drink?
Nursebarbie replied to momo23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Initially post op sips but never gulp or take more than 5 seconds per swallow. Let's too much air in and it will hurt.
