    food stuck in pouch opening

I ate a piece of soft pretzel that was very tuff. I also have severe dry mouth and need to sip on water with every bite of food or else I can’t even swallow it. This has been going on for a year. I have been referred to multiple doctors for the dry mouth and had endless blood tests etc. possibly Sjögren’s syndrome but not confirmed. Nothing feels stuck in my stomach right now, but my glands keep producing a lot of saliva. This is quite a change since I have had severe dry mouth over a year. I also have had no appetite this past year either. My mouth tastes like a mouth full of pennies😩.
  2. I am 5 years post op with gastric sleeve. This past Saturday I got food stuck in my stomach opening. I would drink water to try to wash it down but I just kept producing tons a saliva and spitting it out. The pain in my stomach was horrible. This lasted for over 2 hours and I even vomited 4 times. It finally went away, but I still felt queasy and no appetite for the rest of the day. Since then, (5 days later) I keep producing a lot of saliva in my mouth and keep swallowing it. I'm not having any pain or vomiting and eating very little and chewing everything very well. Has anyone had anything like this? It's the constant swallowing the excess saliva that bothers me, yet I still feel very thirsty.
  3. I am almost 2 years post sleeve. I just had some blood work done and my liver enzymes are high and need to be rechecked in a month. I don't drink a lot of alcohol but I do take Tylenol for headaches. So I want to stop taking it, but need suggestions on what to take instead.

unless you take tylenol a lot and a lot daily your liver wont be affected by tylenol. you cant take nsaids ever, so you would have to discuss alternatives with your doctor. but i guess i have to ask how often do you have headaches?

if it is Tylenol and you take it for pain there is pain medication like tramadol and oxycodone that comes without Tylenol . but there are all kinds of reasons liver enzymes could be elevated. wait and see what your doctor says

    Pain On The Left Side

I had that too. I'm 5 months post op. I had pain for 5 weeks. Right after that all the pain was gone. Just be patient. You just had major surgery. It takes 6 weeks to heel.

    SAD :(

Im 3-1/2 weeks out and losing about 1/2 pound a day or less. I was drinking 69g of protein a day and drinking lots of water. At my 3 week check up the Dr. said I need to up my protein and walk everyday and my weight loss will be faster. So I increased my protein to 90g and started walking 30 min outside. Now I'm losing almost a pound a day. I just started soft and pureed foods so I've increased my calories as well.

    Liquid phase diarrhea...

Yes, I have the same problem. I'm 11 days post op. I mix 1 tablespoon of benefiber with water and it will at least keep me from having to go to the bathroom as often. But Im still miserable. I have to be on liquids for 3 weeks.
  7. I'm 11 days post op. Since day 1 I have had this sharp pain just to the left of my navel, when coughing, sneezing, or bending over. The pain has not eased up at all. Has anyone else had this? How long before it goes away? That is the only area that I have pain.
  8. My favorite so far is the Nectar chocolate truffle. I mix 1 scoop in about 10 oz of water then set in in the fridge for at least an hour or overnight. That way it is completely dissolved. When I'm ready to drink it I add about 1/2 cup,of crushed ice and stir. Then I sip this over 30 minutes. It is very thin and easy to drink. The thicker shakes make me feel queezy. Also the Nectar Carribian Cooler is good mixed with half light orange juice and water. The key for me was letting it sit in the fridge to completely dissolve.

    Liquid phase diarrhea...

I'm 1 week post op and having the same problem. Going about 6 times a day. I've taken Imodium the last 3 days and it did not help. This evening I took benefiber. I hope that helps. I feel so weak in the mornings.
  10. I'm 1 week post op and I keep getting stomach spasms just below my sternum. It just starts out of the blue and lasts about 10 sec. But it is very painful. Even while sleeping I get them. Before surgery I would get these when under a lot of stress. When the stress would pass, so did the spasms. I have been having them since I had surgery, but the last 2 days have been the worse. They kept waking me all night long. Has anyone else had this problem?
  11. It has only been 18 hours since my surgery. The nurse just removed my drain. That has been the most painful thing so far. It made me cry, and I have a high tolerance for pain. Has anyone else had this? I'm going home today. I'm not hungry at all. I can only drink about 1/4 ounce at a time or I get very queezy. I can't wait till the first 3 weeks are over.
  12. I had surgery June 24 at 4:00 PM. Everything went well. I lost 12lbs on my 2 week pre op diet. My starting weight was 221. I used the Bariatric Advantage products. Which consisted of 2 protein shakes, 3 protein bars and 1 small meal of lean meat and green veggies per day. Never, never cheated. The dr said my liver was still a little fatty so they did a biopsy too. Has this happened to anyone.? Right now I'm very sore with terrible gas pain. How long does it take for this to go away? And the soreness from the incision on my left side?
  13. I'm having surgery tomorrow. I'm getting a little nervous. I need some buddys!
