male only Getting nervous due to all the comments I am hearing
Buckfever53 posted a topic in The Guys’ Room
Getting sleeved Feb 3th, I am starting to hear everyone and all I hear is dont do that your not that fat, your not gonna qualify, just put some time in at the gym, people die from this surgery. I hear all these comments, I understand that I am 260 pounds and 5'11 but I have other medical issued ( high b/p., back issues) that made me make this descion. I am also starting to get nervous due to being put to sleep. Just needed to vent a little Like i said starting to get nervous. -
Had surgery on Feb 3, everything went well, pre op diet was worse then the actual surgery. Still can barely eat any food but finally to solids. Glad I got the surgery no regrets so far

No regrets. As soon as I woke up from surgery I was very thirsty and had no problem drinking Water, I actually drank alot. My face and nose was itching really bad when I woke up there for i would not keep the oxygen mask or tube on my nose. The nurse then gave me a nasty attitude so I pulled the O2 tube that goes to the mask and sat it next to my nose and said "there that will work"...she just walked out lol. Then all i wanted to was sleep. Then about the 4th dose of pain meds that night I threw up for whatever reason... yeah not fun. The only advise I can give is to be mentally prepared for what your getting ready to go through and to use that little pillow they give you to keep pressure on your stomach the first couple days..... it worked miracles/

Thanks everyone currently on my last shift at work tonight starting my clear liquid diet. For anyone that is drinking the Isopure pre mixed drinks. I bought a grape Powerade zero and mixed the melon isopure 50/50 and it tastes a hell of a lot better. Not really getting nervous more excited. Tomorrow I am gonna head out on the the four wheeler for a while take a nice relaxing ride through the woods and get mentally prepare my self for the upcoming week. Like I said 10 times before my biggest worry with the surgery was and still is. "your not that big, I am surprised your approved, put some time in at the gym and you will be fine". I am doing this because the surgery is a tool and i know on my own i am not going to lose 60 lbs and I am happy i stuck with my decision and I just hope everything goes well Monday morning. On a funny note the other day I was on my way to my final appointment and the song "Dont fear the reaper" came on..... haha ironic.. -
Why do doctors use different pre op diets? for example a common one is the 14 day liquid diet. I am on the 14 day 800 calorie diet. A buddy of mine who is much larger only had to do a 7 day 800 calorie diet. Just wondering what the differnence and why

14 DAY DIET IS GOING OK, 800 CALORIES REALLY ISNT THAT HARD. The first day of the diet was rough because i just switched to midnights so on top of being tired i was also hungry. Lost seven lbs in a week, which has me thinking maybe I can do this on my own without surgery but still gonna do the surgery. Not really getting nervous about the surgery itself but more that i will lose to much weight and will look worse then I do now. Here is some info 29 years old from New Jersey stared pre op diet at 260lbs down to 252. high b/p, back problems main reason for the surgery and also looking to learn to eat right. Any other sleevers out there in febuary getting ready?

All great comments, I apperciate it. Started today my 14 day, 800 calorie diet. I believe this is going to be the hardest part. I have another question, If everything goes right, I am supposed to have my surgery at 7 am, can I expect to be on my way home by 4pm the next day? -
