Hi Everyone, I am in need of suggestions. I am 11 days out and I have to get my protein in but every time I even think about drinking another one I gag. Please give me some suggestions to get me through this. Thank you so much.

Congrats to all of us July Sleevers. I was sleeved on Tuesday, July 23rd. The surgery took 3 and half hours due to blood vessels being wrapped in the spleen. All went well though. I am having some pain, but nothing I cannot deal with. The biggest issue is trying to get comfy. My awesome hubby took me to Wal-Mart today so I could get out of the house and it did wonders for me. I am trying to get in my liquids and proteins but it isn't as easy as I thought it would be. I will keep everyone posted here. I know how much it helps me to ready everyone's posts. I do not have to do the pre op diet. Just the one day before I have to do full liquids. You will find there are so many different things each doctor requires. You did a great job with losing weight. Call your doctors office and let them know you are struggling. They will tell you what you need to do. People can be a little harsh on here. I know you arent looking for someone to tell you it is ok. I know you are looking for support, someone who understands and I can appreciate that. My surgery is July 23rd and I am really worried about the first 4 weeks but I know I can do it. I have lost 30 pounds since I started in February and the first 2 weeks were not easy. I took it one day at a time. Good luck to you.

After my first visit with the nut. I started eating non stop. I felt like I was going to be depriving my body of food so I just ate whatever I wanted. That lasted about a week and then I realized that I needed to do this and this was a decision I made and I needed to stick with it. That was in February, I have lost 30 lbs and I am scheduled for surgery on July 23rd. I am scared, don't get me wrong, but I am more concerned about living a more productive life and enjoying my kids and my grandson. I have no doubt there will be tough days ahead but they will get better.

My surgery date is July 23rd at St Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland. I am so excited and scared at the same time.

Thank you so much for responding. I am so disappointed Dr. Ben Meir isnt doing my surgery. I have an appointment to meet Dr. Hassan Friday. I have a lot of friends who had Dr. Ben Meir do their surgeries and loved him. This whole thing makes me nervous. I did call Parma Hospital and asked about switching and they said that would be fine but Dr. Craig will be deployed in July. I was hoping to find some feedback on Dr. Hassan. It looks like you are doing well with your loss. What is your opinion about St Vincent Charity Hospital?

I just got approved for my surgery this week. I am really nervous because the Dr. who was supposed to do the surgery has resigned and I was told the new Doctor, Dr. Chandra Hassan will be doing it. I know nothing about this doctor. Has anyone had their surgery done with him at Parma Hospital, Southwest Hospital or St. Vincent Charity in Cleveland? If so please give me your opinion about him.
