I wish I kept the article someone posted on there a few months ago it was very interesting and stated that it takes 4.4pounds of water to burn one pound! That is why you will lose inches but not weight for a week or two and then one day see a 3-4 pound drop! I am a little over 3 months out and have had a weight stalls! I was weighing every day!!! I was depressing so I stopped now I weight every so often nothing consistent and I am still losing and doing awesome!!!

krystamae replied to nomorecupcakes's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I sad that wrong take the amount of weight u want to lose and divide by weight u have lost! That will give u the percentage of total body weight gne forever!! also just to answer a few of the guestions I see I am 3 months out I have had minimal hair loss, I had a few weeks that I was super tired and had no energy! I have had some GERD issues which I had prior, I suggest taking omeprazole! Congrats to everyone who has made the decision to change their life!!!!! You will not regret it!! -

I was a low BMI and I having survey to lose 50 pounds max!! I have read study after study that says that lower BMI patients lose 90-100 percent of there excess weight! I am so happy I had my surgery! fYI if you want to compare a low bmi weight loss to higher Bmi and figure out your percentages you take amount of weight to lose and divide by weight lost! At 7 weeks you should have lost 25 percent of excess weight to be on track at 6 months you should be at 50 percent! Compared to others I appear to have lost less weight but when you do percentages I have lost over 60 percent of my excess weight since Sx in early July!!!!! I don't often mention that I am a low bmi and no offence to anyone but I am not interested in any negativity!! I believe weight loss Sx is a personal choice and if you can do it then I am happy cheer you in -
Hi I was sleeved 7/12/13 I am not sure how your weight loss is going but I have noticed that when I get my protein shakes in I lose weight! When I don't have them I stop losing!! I find I am generally between 30-60g a day!!! Hang in there!!!! Also if you are doing cardio great if not it really helps with the weight loss!!! You can reach your birthday goal!

I would change doctors, don't waste your time with legal issues, fix the problem you need a new doctor, go see a gastrointeralogist! They will do labs and can look into the stomach ect! It is common that people think a GI doctor doesn't look at the stomach but they do!!!! If your doctor isn't helping you don't waste you time trying to make them!!! Find someone who cares maybe another in the same specialty????

Nurses- when are you going back to work?!
krystamae replied to Megabuck886's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I must admit I went back to work as a nurse 5 days after! I did not tell anyone I was having the surgery and felt great after! I work In critical care and if I had a heavy patient I just asked for help if needed! I can't imagine taking FMLA for this surgery! -
REGRETTING.....
krystamae replied to NeuroSurgNurse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I had my surgery back in July and though I never regretted it for a moment there are some hiccups along the way! I have had really Bad GERD for years and after surgery I really didn't have much, or so I thought! I never took anything post op and in a few weeks ago I was having a lot of pain after eatting and was vomitting after eatting!! I was thinking I had a stricture however I was advised to start taking OMeprazole! I did however I was reluctant because " my GERD" was not that bad! After taking daily for 3 weeks my symptoms have gone away and I feel great! All that being said I strongly suggest everyone take something for heart burn! Even If you feel fine!!! It is amazing how your stomach changes! -

Hi I am 3 months out and like you I can only eat about 3 bites! I am rarely hungry, I have craving and I am not afraid to satisfy them! I eat so little of anything anyway! I am now starting to experience some hair loss which is a bummer since I have thin hair anyway!!!
-
How much do your tastes change post-op? Still crave the same things?
krystamae replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 months out and I still have some craving! I do not deny myself and I usually have a bit or two and I am satisfied!! I was a low BMI to start and I have done well with my weight loss! -
When did you try breads?
krystamae replied to ladylaura's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, I am 3 months out and I do not limit myself! I eat breads and pasta!!! I do not crave it and I eat such little amounts it is not a big deal!! -
You are doing great!! Yes we all have bad days but it is a learning process, remember it is the percentage that is important! Take the amount of weight you need/want to lose and divide by weight lost! To be successfull studies show at 8 weeks post op you should be at 25 percent weight loss and at 5 months 50 percent!! I am a Low BMI'er and have followed this and seem to be doing ok! I have weeks that I do not lose weight but I am losing! I had my surgery in July 0f 2013!!! Hang in there and remember protein!!!! I notice my weight loss slows when I don't get enough protein in!
