Healing thoughts and prayers to you all who are having a difficult time. God Bless. -
What to do??? I am 1 month post-op tomorrow and haven't been able to stomach protein shakes AT ALL. I am eating small amounts of food. Was in the ER for minor dehydration, a UTI and low iron. Haven't felt good at all since surgery, along with hardly any energy. They did a bunch of tests and my protein level was good... Hoping the iron helps pick me up... Doing my best to get all my water in, but vomit every time I try a protein shake. The doc said that once our stomach heals and we can eat normally, that we shouldn't have to rely on drinking the shakes for protein... Help??!

Hi everybody.. I'm glad I have come across this thread, for I am too, very regretful of having the surgery and am in a very dark place right now. Most of my regret is due to the doubts I had about the surgery prior and up until that very day. I'm so upset with myself for going through with it even though I wasn't completely sure. I wish I could take it back and listened to myself, but now it's too late. I feel like I made the worst mistake of my life. I'm sorry for being so negative, but I truly am in desperation and was hoping someone out there could tell me that these feelings will pass and it will get better. I would appreciate any help, thank you

Hello everybody... I'm having such a difficult time here... I was sleeved July 22nd, and CANNOT stomach any protein shakes. I am in the soft food phase, which has been going well, but am afraid Of not getting all my protein. I get to add crackers, crisp toast and deli meats next week, totally looking forward to that. I am doing pretty good getting most of my water/milk/fluids in, just not the protein shakes. I just can't stomach them. Also, I still feel weak and feel I have to eat something every couple hours. I can barely take a shower without having to sit down after!! I am walking everyday, but it is a chore, which wasn't prior to surgery. I have to be honest and say I have had buyers remorse from day one and am in full regret. I apologize for sounding so whiney, I just feel so hopeless and was hoping someone out there would have some advice for me... I would be very grateful. Thank you <3

to Newbie and Aspiring Avangelist.... thank you for your info... I'm newly sleeved- July 22nd, and am just 3 days on my soft food phase. I have had a dark cloud of regret over me regarding my surgery decision. Most of it, I think, thinking I may never get to enjoy carbs in moderation again- like pizza night with my family, or taco night.... sounds kinda childish, but truthful. I also have a difficult time stomaching anymore protein drinks at this point big worry of my hair falling out.... feeling kinda hopeless... -
Dr. Almanza, Jerusalem Hospital. I believe I paid $4700 total. could be a couple hundred off, but for sure not over 5k.

I've been struggling a little... but keeping the faith. Please stay strong!!! You will be just fine and you will be in caring hands!! It is only natural to nervous and scared, but you will be so happy with your results!! hang in!!

thank you for sharing your useful info! sleeved July 22nd and totally struggling with the protein
-
thank you all for sharing!! I was just sleeved on July 22nd.... I was freaking out because my tongue turned white and didn't want to go to the doctor, due to no insurance, unless I REALLY have to... I'm running out to get some probiotics!!

at my weigh in the day I started the 5 day pre-op liquid diet, I was 237, as of this morning, I weighed in at 211.5. so a loss of 25.5 since July 22nd!! I had no expectations, so I am very happy with the loss so far. I won't lie... the first 2 weeks were very difficult for me, emotionally.... plus, I don't think I can ever stomach broth again! I do have a difficult time with the protein shakes, but now that I have started the soft food phase, I'm hoping to get in more protein. I am very lucky that I can drink regular water- a lot of people have said that drinking water after surgery is painful. It was at first, but I was determined to drink, so now I can without any pain. If you are going to Tijuana by yourself, no worries, because you will won't be alone! Bonus is you will leave with probably a new friend or two.. everyone sticks together

I was sleeved July 22nd in Tijuana with Dr. Almanza. Couldn't ask for a better experience, despite my rough first night after surgery. The nurses are unbelievable!! My friend and I that were both sleeved that day were skeptical with the whole Mexico surgery idea, but so happy we decided to go with it! If you have any questions, feel free to message me!

you are beautiful!! and thank you for sharing.... I was sleeved July 22nd and know I too, will most likely be losing my hair in this process. it will eventually grow back. I guess the sacrifice is worth it staying strong!

I am a total belly sleeper. I was sleeved on July 22nd. I take a king pillow and nestle it to my abdomen and slightly turn to either side to get some rest.... try it, it will be a little tender, but every night gets a little less painful.

I've been sleeved, but many complications followed.
