I an from the south shore and looking to meet some fellow sleevers
-
I have been having post OP issues since day after surgery. Can't drink enough, then severe gerd complete with waking up choking on yuck. I was sleeved August 28 and have been re admitted to hospital twice since for dehydration. Three barium swallows later and it has been confirmed my esophagus doesn't like to let anything through it. So the pain in my chest and the feeling of things sitting there has not been my imagination its real. My surgeon says he does not know if this was a problem prior to surgery and i just didn't know it or if this is new. He has put me on reglan and admitted that i could be on it for life he doesn't know yet. So that's all i have for today. Just praying the meds work

GERD - Indigestion, Reflux, Lumps in Throat/Chest. Exposition of Symptoms and Treatment.
teeny1202 replied to Madam Reverie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just seeing this post and thought i would share. After surgery my gerd was horrendous. I almost immediately started taking my prilosec 2x a day and that only barely helped.would wake up every night choking on acid. Was put on reglan for a month and that worked. Was sleeved August 28 and am down to taking prilosec only once a day again. Gerd seems to be mostly manageable now. -
Is anyone able to eat chicken & grapes post op?
teeny1202 replied to A_ReNUDE_me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chicken is pretty much the only meat i can eat since surgery. Red meats are harder to digest. -

I am in Plymouth Mass, having surgery at Tobey hospital in Wareham with Dr Streeter. I have done my psych eval and one if two nutrition appts. I can't say i am new as i done these steps two times prior. Have changed mind from bypass to sleeve. Meet with surgeon three weeks ago and have an appt Tuesday for pre op testing and next week for medical clearance. Thinking surgery may be scheduled for August or early September -

Glad I found you guys. I've been wondering how you were doing. Sleeved by Dr Streeter on 6/19. I'm over three months out and feeling fantastic!! It takes time but it is so worth it! I don't really know how to use this forum' date=' how do I get notified of a reply?[/quote'] So glad you found us. I can't remember how to get notifications, i am trying out the new app and its so different from the old one. I do get email notifications on this particular thread. I am doing better. Down 37 pounds. Still having a hard time with Water, i just don't like it. Have found that i prefer warm fluids so lots of decaf coffee and tea for me. Do have a juicy juice apple juice box every day that is delicious. Also still drinking one meal a day to help with fluids. Aside from that i feel good. Heartburn almost not a problem at all. No longer crushing pills. -
