I've been trying to have weight loss surgery for 10 years. My husband was in the military, and I was approved twice, each time it took almost a year to get approved, and each time we received orders to go overseas, which cancelled my surgery. Then I found out, because of some extensive endocrine disorders I have, that I did not qualify for gastric bypass, only the sleeve. Our insurance didn't cover the sleeve. So I waited until my husband retired from the military and got different insurance. Our insurance finally covered sleeve in January 2013. I felt like I had won the lottery after so long! I had surgery on June 11, 2013.
