:rolleyes2:I am now,...hmm lets see... 6 months post-op. I am down 52 pounds. I feel so much better already. I know I havent lost as fast as some, but I feel great!! Brandymom, welcome and don't you just love Dr. Kirshenbaum? He's great. Anyway, love you all and good luck to the newbies! Go JTAG!!!! Char

Meegco63,

12 pounds is GREAT!! Just think of it this way, if you lost 12 pounds per month you'd be great. I heard alot of stories about people saying they lost 35 pounds the first month etc., When I compared myself to them, I got down. But the truth is, losing a little slower is healthier for your body and your skin! You are doing wonderful.

You have to be on liquids after your fill? Wow, not me. I love my doc. His rules are really loose. lol

Good luck and keep us posted!

Char

Jtag, I can totally relate. I still do the same thing. I have been banded fro 2 months and I want to be thin NOW! So sometimes it doesnt seem real. I still can't grasp that I might (see, cant even say "will") be much thinner by next summer. I read horror stories about how it didnt work at all for someone, etc and get doubtful. But the truth of the matter is,..it DOES work, if you work with it. I can go a week without dropping a pound by just cheating my band (having liquid with my meal, eating chocolate, etc). But when I follow the rules, the band works. By the way, I LOVE being able to be real on here. If Id have typed that onthe yahoo group, Id had gotten a 15 minute lecture on "why in the world would I eat chocolate!!" Hey, I am real and I still have food problems. Thankfully, they are far and fewer between now!

I have nto started working out yet. I need too. This sounds like typical excuses but I really dont knwo when. I work full time, commute 2 hours a day, have 2 kids (dinner, homework) and am going to school in the evenings. I cant even keep up with my laundry. lol Congrats on the 10 pounds. Let me know how the fill is! Char

Hey there, No I had al unfill because I got too much on my second fill. I have the new 10cc band, so we are experimenting. I went from 4cc to 6 cc,and was MISERABLE. I couldnt even drink water without throwing up. SO, I went in the next day and got 1 cc out. Perfect! I think Ill go in this week and get maybe 1/4 cc. Its so sensitive. Anyway, it sounds like you will do great! Can you tell me how to put your ticker in your post? Thanks! Char

Practicing making a ticker here,.. lets see if it works! Char

:clap2:HI there and congrats on getting banded! Thats so exciting. I am 2 months out, and have lost 34 pounds. Its not as fast as some, but I am thrilled! Its a whole new lifestyle, and one I feel I can control. I am not familiar with your surgeon. Mine was Kirshenbaum in Aurora. He is great. I have already had 2 fills and 1 unfill.:-) Well, best of luck to you and keep us posted! Char

It is MUCH better, thank you. I have no idea what it was. But it gradually got better with rest. I am ready to start my walking routine again, but am a bit leary. How are you doing? Getting excited I'm sure. I am just so happy because I am seeing the scale slowly move. Sometimes it even goes back up a pound or two when I am "naughty" but I just feel like I am in control now. When I see it go up, I know why, and I know how to turn it around. I felt so defeated pre-band. I am really excited for you and think you will LOVE it! Hi there! Well, here I am 7 weeks post-op. I am down 25 pounds, so not as fast as some, but Im happy. Anyway, question for you all... I have a sharp "side-ache" or "stitch" kind of pain in my fasr left side. Its nowhere near the port. Its lower than a normal side-ache,...kind of right below my waist line. I don't know if it is related to the band or not, but thought Id ask if anyone has had this. Last night, it was so bad I could hardly walk. I took some Advil, and it was fine. But this morning, its back, and very painful. Let me know if anyone has had this! Thanks! Char:kiss2:

I guess I am not sure waht to expect. I ate lunch and it was totally fine, in fact, I am still hungry. Hmmm,..I might be calling him in a few days fro more saline. Anyway, I met Joy (JFK) at the docs office and she is so sweet! Good luck to you, Joy. Let me know how you are feeling with your fill. :faint::faint:

Well, I am definitely in. A little scared, but still in. I am in day 6 of the pre-op diet,m which is a low carb. I have lost 10 pounds doing that, but I am just focusing on the fact that I am headed "down the scale" not up. I am counting my journey starting at that pre-op weight. I am really excited. My husband is a little worried this will "change me too much" or that he won't be "as attracted". I was discouraged by this but decided to press on. I really think our realtionship is stronger than insecurity, so I think it will be fine. Im just so EXCITED to do all the things I can't do now, with him, with my kids,...just everyday stuff. Onward and DOWNWARD!!! Char :-)
