Susan, I don't mean to be a tattle tale, but why are SO MANY women posting in the Man Room? Is the request for us to refrain from posting there no longer in effect, or just not being honored?

Uh-Oh, I Said Too Much
Canary Diamond commented on Canary Diamond's blog entry in A Sleeve-enturous Odyssey!
OK so here's what I went with (FA = Future of America, M = Me): FA: Ms. Diamond, how was your surgery? M: I'm feeling fine, thank you! FA: What did you have surgery on? M: Oh, I had some things removed. It's kinda gross and you don't want to know about it. FA: OK. (pause) What did you have removed? Your eyeballs? Can you see us? Are those fake eyeballs? Yeah, I think one's falling out! M: No. FA: But really, what did you have removed? M: My testicles That shut 'em up. -
Gender Confusion?
Canary Diamond replied to Canary Diamond's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I don't belong in the Men's Room because I don't have a d**k. Same reason I won't engage in a pissing match with you. Thank you, Alex and Susan, for answering my question. -
Gender Confusion?
Canary Diamond replied to Canary Diamond's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Sheesh, ever think of changing your name to "Don RUDE-olfo". I was just trying to clarify what the situation was (possibly a technical issue), since it seemed to me the expectation had been outlined pretty clearly in the room's description. -

Thank you everyone for your helpful advice. Except you, Arts137. Smartass. I'm only with these kiddos for another week (I don't teach with the regular school district anymore), so chances are they won't see any big changes. Also, it's entirely possible they're too wrapped in their ultra-meaningful little lives to even remember to ask me about it. -
I'm on The You Tubes!
Canary Diamond commented on Canary Diamond's blog entry in A Sleeve-enturous Odyssey!
Why thank you, Teresa! Your expectations of me are clearly too high. -
Hey everybody! I just learned how to make a video with my computer and post it on "The Internet". It's very high-tech and I wouldn't want to intimidate any of you technophobes out there. I am just BLAZING into the last quarter of the 20th century! Anyway, I will be chronicling my weight loss journey for all to see. if you'd like to check it out, I'm pretty sure my channel name is "Canary Diamond". I don't know the difference between the member name and channel name, but I'm sure you'll figure it out - you smarty pants, you! Oh, even better. Here's a link (that's short for hyper-link in technology lingo, but again, I don't want to bore you with my exhaustive knowledge of what we early adopters call the "world wide web"): http://www.youtube.c...JUTmAKTCP8BLOwQ Check it out, and subscribe if you like it!

Hello World!
Canary Diamond commented on lsereno's blog entry in Everything you wanted to know about VSG and then some
Yay for you! BTW - blogs don't always have to be informational to be beneficial to others (or yourself). I've found that sometimes even those blogs that are basically online diaries can be helpful, simply because others can identify with them and feel comforted that they are not alone in their feelings of insecurity, confusion, etc. Looking forward to keeping up with you! -
Sounds amazing! Recipes, please!

Thanks, Susan! I thought it was just me being impaired. -

Stool softeners: don't forget for post-op!
Canary Diamond replied to KittyLouSou's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do stool softeners help with intestinal gas? My business couldn't be much softer, but that gas that won't budge. -
Can you give us some examples, Lynda?

(rant alert!) CARBS ARE NOT THE DEVIL! (Thanks for nothing, Dr. Atkins.) Beans do not include simple or lipogenic (fat-forming) carbohydrates like, say, high fructose corn syrup does. Your body NEEDS the three macronutrients of fat, carbohydrate, and Protein to continue catalyzing reactions that keep it functioning. However, you must educate yourself in the various types of carbs so you can read nutrition information/labels critically. That being said, your first priority (as well as mine) should be on acquiring adequate protein. Beans are such an excellent source of protein, I doubt you have anything to worry about as far as filling up with carbs before meeting your protein quota.

Overweight - no longer obese!
Canary Diamond replied to Indigo1991's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This is very inspiring to me as our stats and goals are almost the same! My DOS weight was 209 and I'll be officially "overweight" at 167. Do you have any tips? I can't "weight" to be "over" this hump like you! -
bad/sad what 2 medical people said to me!
Canary Diamond replied to ProudGrammy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My therapist said the same thing to me two weeks before my surgery. At our next session I confronted her about how much this bothered me. I had thoroughly done my research, been through four months of residential treatment for binge eating disorder, and my mindset was the best it had ever been. My body just kept gaining weight. I knew I was ready and would have had the procedure the day I learned about it if I could have! She was convinced that because of my history of emotional eating I would fail. I told her that her statement made me feel judged and gave me the impression that she either didn't understand me or didn't believe me when I said I knew there was much work ahead. I then proceeded to elaborate all the work that was ahead and my willingness to do it, clarifying that I understood the sleeve is a tool not a solution. By the end of the session, she took back what she had said. She was one of only six people I told before having the surgery. Despite her retraction, it was devastating to hear her say that to me in the first place. -
I didn't think we were supposed to drive for two weeks after.

How to display "My Surgeon"
Canary Diamond replied to Bufflehead's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
You forgot "Illan" (the name most people would use in a search for him, I'm assuming), so I tried to fix it. Now it's gone. -
Besides weight loss, what has been the biggest benefit since getting surgery?

Photographic Series Showing What 200 Calories Looks Like in Different Foods
Canary Diamond replied to DonRodolfo's topic in Food and Nutrition
That's pretty remarkable. Thank you for posting. I also think it's worth checking out the link to the right of Emma Hack's new nude body painting series (she did the body painting in Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" video) depicting beautiful, REAL women.
