Excellent question! Anyone?? -
:bored Still waiting! Friday PM Doreen faxed the final letter that ICo. requested. The weekend is dragging knowing that it may be next week that they give approval to pay and then we can set a date. I am still hopeful that my Aug pre-op physical will work out regarding the doc & hospital's schedule. **crossing self**

The Star Tribune website has excellent maps (click on link) detailing alternate routes for travel. OH also has a listing of Bariatric Surgeons/Clinics that may be able to help locating an alternative fill doc.

FYI: my lapband doc's guidelines (it continues on to stages 2, 3, 4, and 5: covering the first 6 weeks post-op and week 7 and beyond) if you are interested, let me know I will PM it to you. These guidelines are so similar to others I have seen on this post--but, I find it interesting to compare ALL information. LAP BAND SURGERY GUIDELINES DAY ONE Clear Liquids: Including diluted juice (anything you can see through), water, broth, Jello or Popsicles STAGE ONE: WEEK 1 & 2 Liquid Diet: Choose liquids tha have calories and protein for meals (see box below). You can have uo to 6 liquid meals per day: each 4 oz (1/2 cup) over a 30-45 minute period. At other times of the day, choose only non-caloric beverages. The following choices will NOT be appropriate long-term. Ready made liquid supplements: Slim Fast, Ensure, Boost Carnation Instant Breakfast made with skim or low fat milk Yogurt smoothie Skim or low fat milk Creamed soups ie: tomato soup made with skim or low fat milk -

Here is the truth about the band
pjanes54 replied to alysedg23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree, Lorsbander, this thread reads like my worst nightmare. Although, ALL replies are very, very encouraging, filled with first hand experience and band intelligence. Thank you all for your reassuring posts, hopefully it will help others in need, as it did me. -
The whole distorted "body image" is so interesting. Some days I feel fatter and other days I feel less fatter...for no other reason than that is just how "I feel" that day. There are many many posts that mention this. So when does our inner sense of how we appear catch up to how we ACTUALLY appear on the outside? Anybody have any ideas/input on "body image"? I'd love to hear it.

Sorry for the delayed reply:Hennepin County Med Center:Bariatrics in Mpls, MN. My doc is adamant about losing weight pre-op. He will button you up if he has trouble getting around a fatty liver and not preform surgery. He's tough but, I have a lot of confidence in him and his staff. Good luck to you!!

Prayers going up for any and all who may be at all touched by 35 W collapse of Mississippi River bridge. God be with you.

Thank you for posting! How very brave and courageous of you to take part in the surgery when you did! AND to have done so well with your weight loss. Are there other brave souls that were involved with the study and how have they fared? Again, thank you for forging the way as a WLS pioneer. Admirable feat!

How is weight loss for people over 50?
pjanes54 replied to debi717's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi FabulousFifties: Mind if I join you? I hope to be joining the banded group shortly; even though it seems as if I've been saying that forever, I should have a surgery date within a week or so. -

Thanks! It's encouraging to here that you are doing well and had a good experience with Dr Lederer. So what doc takes care of you now that he is with HCMC? I like his direct, matter-of-fact approach. How about support groups? There is a band support group meeting at Hennepin but, I have not attended yet. I am still waiting to hear from insurance for pre-approval; should be soon....omg, it seems like forever! Peg
