I'm sorry you are in pain! Congratulates on your surgery- I hope you can rest and feel well soon.

I am pre-sleeve and am keeping it quiet because I don't want attention. I've told my husband and that's it for now. I will revisit the idea of sharing it with family and friends after its done and I can't be talked out of it. I don't think I will tell coworkers. I don't know if I'm ready to open up the topic of my weight/health.

I can completely relate. I am still getting all of my pre work done and it scares me sometimes to think about being "average" size. I've defined myself as being a big person for over 20 years. It is sometimes a comfort to be ignored, not noticed. I've grown accustomed to being fat. I am afraid of being unhealthy so I really want the sleeve. But sometimes I'm scared- what will I be like when I am smaller? What will the world be like?

I'm addicted too! I love the support, the openness, the ideas. I love it- Its replaced my other social networks lol.

Such an inspiration! Sooo awesome! I'm still in the way early part- have my first meeting this Friday. I can't wait to start my new life.

I love my mom dearly but I don't think I want to tell her until the week after surgery. My mom still tries to tell me that I am not fat, that I don't need to lose weight. Every time I have ever gone on a diet she tells me she is afraid I will waste away to nothing. When I brought up wanting to have the surgery in the past she went into tears and blamed herself for my bad self esteem. She is very small and has no personal experience with significant weight loss. I'm feeling so much better having you all to talk to- Your progress is so encouraging

I hear you! Diet Pepsi is my "drug" of choice. I have been drinking Diet Pepsi for over 20 years! Lol. Ugh. Keep me posted- you can do it!

I have my first consult next Friday. I have no idea if it will be in October or not, but I am hoping it will be due to my personal schedule. So many motivating posts on this site! Had to say hello and wish you all luck. I will post again after I know more.
