    Some ideas post-liquid stage

I'm making a shopping list today for my puree stage. Definitely getting tons of beans and chickpeas and avocados!
  2. So I'm a huge foodie and I just got surgery, so naturally I'm planning ahead ways to both quell the foodie inside of me and stick to the diet as much as possible. Mixing mashed potatoes with lots of veggies (cauliflower is great) I make potato salad with corn, carrots, and peas, and replace most of the mayo with yogurt (haven't tried this post-op yet, obviously, but an idea for a small serving in case of a craving) Soaking crackers or a small slice (the crust off one side?) of bread in Soup before eating it so it's already expanded Lentils? Has anyone eaten those post-op? I figured I should figure some of these things out before I get to that stage, so I figured I'd see if anyone here has tried or wants to try any of the above. I know the potato salad is something I used to make a lot, and it was so filled with veggies and the yogurt gave it extra Protein. I'm excited to be able to try just a bite of that in a month or so. EDIT: I also heard that toasting the bread helps (thus why I suggested crackers soaked in soup)?
  3. Last night I alternated between my back and my side, but this morning I took a nap on the couch on my side. I can't manage the belly yet (too sore).
  4. All of your responses are very helpful! I'll definitely focus on responding to my body, but keep your stories in mind.
  5. Got home about four hours ago after 3 days in the hospital. Had a few complications with the staff but now it's all up to me. I had a few questions about the directly-post-surgery phase. I can't get past this full feeling (I'm still belching a lot from the air bubble test) and I can't tell the difference between me being full and just having gas. Are there any tips for getting past this or telling the difference? What are your favorite ways to sleep post-surgery? I got a lot of severe back pain in the hospital (I was in recovery for 4-5 hours instead of 1, leaving me on the hard gurney) and I've tried both on the back with a ramp of pillows, and on the side with a support pillow under the stomach. What were your favorite first exercises? I have 2.5lbs weights but my stomach seems a little saggy already, so I wanted to get on that ASAP. I've also heard that the recovery goes faster each day. I'm in a good amount of pain, but how long should I expect that? Thanks everyone <3
