Once they have all the information from your doc, they make a decision within 14 days. Mine was right at 10. The nurse case manager I think I talked to twice. I had to go through UHC's 6 month healthy weight program and that was 10 phone calls over 6 months. -
I think I've stalled a little bit but I figure our bodies are having to adjust to our new way of life. HW: 370 SW: 335 (I did pre-op diet for 4 wks) CW: 320 -50

You both are lucky. I'm on full liquids for two more weeks.

I was discharged about noon on Tuesday. Worst pain is from the bigger incision on the left. Getting up/down and in and out of the bed seem to be the biggest triggers. Tried getting protein in but I just can't handle the syntrax nectar. It makes me want to hurl. Adding the vitamin crystals made it that much worse. My NUT said i could go back to the premier protein shakes i was using before and that has made a huge difference. I'm hoping that a few weeks down the road that will change otherwise I'll have to throw away some expensive tubs. I'm mostly off of pain meds and starting to feel a little normal. I wouldn't call it regret but I will say I've had a couple of moments where I looked at myself and asked...what did you do to yourself now?

I had mine yesterday morning and was released a out 130p today. Doing well so far. The left side incision is very sore, worst getting up and down. Worst think so far has been the heartburn/reflux...and anything I drink seems to hurt going down, I can even feel it hit my new stomach. I'm hoping that subsides in the next day or so.

I'm from McKinney and getting sleeved on Monday, July 8.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the input. Surgery is a week from tomorrow and I'm starting to get nervous.
-
What should I expect the first week post op and how much help will I need once I'm back home? Thanks in advance!
-
I actually started my pre-op diet a week early (I didn't want that to delay things while waiting on the final determination from insurance) but so far so good. I've lost about 20 lbs and already feel better.

Just have to get through my EGD tomorrow and pre op testing on Monday

I would be interested as well. I'm hoping to get my final approval from insurance in the next couple of weeks. I'm both excited and nervous.
