Hello skinny, you look marvelous. Keep up the beautiful work, you are doing great. Did you meet your goal yet or you have more to lose?
-
I am with you. I weigh myself once a month and no more cos I hate disappointments. Even though the scale makes the decision not move for a month or two, it's still okay as long as it's not moving up.

My older sister started this journey before me but she was denied by her insurance because of low BMI and I was approved. I was sleeved 6/5/13 and she ended up paying private and was sleeved 12/5/13. My sister was happy for me even though I cried when I found out that she was denied cos I wanted us to be close in date. I am now there for her for support and advice even though I wish it was the other way around. Your friend should be happy for you no matter what but don't give up on her yet, she might come around. Good luck and be happy cos this is journey that will take you to a place where you have never been before.

I am singing praises this morning cos I have never been so happy to lose a mere 4 pounds in my entire 38 yrs of being alive. For two months plus, the scale was stuck at 242 and today, I reluctantly hopped on it expecting to see same numbers but was amazed when it read 238. I screamed so loud that I woke up my two babies sleeping. So happy. Best Christmas gift.

Managing Expectations: Weight and Hunger
chibabyy replied to Dxbdude's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes, it is expected and you are not doing anything wrong. I hit a stale at about 3-4 weeks out and I am now six months out and has been at the same weight for a couple of months now. I have also noticed that I have gone from size 20 to 18 in the past couple of months when the scale last moved. My original surgery size was size 24. My point: even though the scale is not responding to all your hard-works, your body is. Good luck and please don't give up. It will be worth it at the end. Sleeved-6/5/13 SW-300 CW-242 Goal-160. -
I am six months out and just weighed myself today after more than a month to find out that I only lost 3lbs in a month plus. Really, are you kidding me? I should have listened to my doctor when he told me that I am going to fail cos I am focusing so much on the numbers. How can I not focus on the number when I am trying the best I can to lose this nasty weight and everybody else is excelling and am failing. I should have known better than to expect to triumph like everybody else cos It will never work for me. Should stick to my motto" if it was not for bad luck, I would not have any luck at all". Whenever people are engaged in anything and doing well and I decide to try whatever it is that they are doing, I always fail for some weird reason. I don't know why I thought this would be different. I guess this means that I will be stuck at 242lbs and be happy for the 58lbs that I lost in six months. I know stalls happen and I have been thru it but not this bad. I have encouraged the newbies in the past about stall but really? In almost two months to lose 3lbs? Unbelievable.

I will be 6 months out on dec. 5th 2013 and have been doing good so far. I'm a slow loser but still do my part like watching what I eat, going to the gym, climbing the stairs etc. I am giving this all I got but my thunder thighs are just in the way and it bothers me. I love the results that I see on my body but once I look down on my thighs, disappointment sets in and I feel like I have not been doing anything at all. I'm thinking about having liposuction on my thighs and see if I can get beyond this depression. I have the kind of big fat thighs that when I put my legs together, my thighs bumps up on the inner side. I don't know how else to explain it but it's very annoying and ugly to look at. My mom is even willing to sponsor me though she's done a lot already. Should I wait or just do the liposuction? Highest weight-300, current weight-245(as of 3weeks ago), goal- 160.
-
The topic says "considering liposuction" and I have not made up my mind about doing anything just doing some research. I do value a lot of opinions from this site cos these are people that can relate to me and what I am going thru more than my family and friends can. I now think that I will wait and see what will happen in the next six months or so, then I will take it from there. Thanks all for your opinion, I truly appreciate them. I guess going from a size 24 to 20 in 5months puts me in a position to push my thighs to shrink too. Sleeved 6/5/13-my 38th birthday.
-
This is what I'm talking about. My thunder ugly looking thighs. By the way, I went from 300lbs to 245 and one would think that they would get smaller. They all look the same to me even though the 3rd picture was the most recent and the 1st picture was the week after surgery. Judge for yourself and tell me what you think.

Hitting my goal will take forever with this thigh in the way. Also, my family will be traveling out of the country in six months and I don't want my thighs to keep me from going with them. I also believe that I will have more confidence and motivation to continue with my goal once the thighs are reduced and I look like a normal person.

Shoe size shrunk?
chibabyy replied to Liliana070813's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank God that I'm not crazy. I will be 6 months out on dec. 5th and noticed that all my cute size 11, 10w and 10 shoes doesn't fit anymore but I don't remember ever wearing a 9. Guess I'm gonna have to try a 9 or 9w. I'm a slow loser but my feet seems to be losing more than my body. Don't want to invest on new shoes now cos the way my feet is going, I will go down to size 6 in the next 6months LOL. -
Please Let The Hair Loss Stop!
chibabyy replied to need2bthin!'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My hair started thinning a few years before surgery from braiding and using too much chemicals so once I found out about hair loss post surgery, i saved myself from the stress by cutting it really low. It's growing back slowly now just like my weight loss is slow. -
Started out at 300 before surgery 6/5/13. Current weight is 245. Losing slow but will eventually get there. My goal is 160 but my thunder thighs needs to go first.

Hello skinny, great job. You look great.

So I went to my doc for my 5 months weigh in after not weighing myself for a month and expecting a huge weight loss. To my greatest disappointment, I found out that I lost only 13lbs in two months. Really! Are you kidding me. I have never been so dedicated to anything in my life like I am now. I eat at least 75% less than what I used to eat or even less. I gave up juice, soda and only drink water or milk. I eat healthy now compared to before my surgery. I eat apple with peanut butter or yogurt with egg whites for breakfast, baked live chicken(homemade) with broccoli for lunch or beans, fruits with cheese for supper. For snacks-protein bar, yogurt, carrots, apple or banana but not all at the same time. I still manage to squeeze in 15-20 minutes at the gym on treadmills before picking up my 2kids and the gym doesn't even include the exercises I do with my residents 3xwk, the dancing, the squats and walking the stairs at work from the 8th to the 14th floor. I am doing the best I can for now but why can't I see it on the scale? My doc had the nerve to tell me that I am going to fail cos I only look at the scale instead of on inches lost. Maybe I will make history by being the only sleever with a 50 lb weight loss. I am even planning on going back to school but if I can't loose it now, when else can I? I am 5 months out and lost only 55lbs. Some don't work half as hard and they loose huge amount of weight. Is there something I am missing?

2 months postop before and after pictures
chibabyy replied to jamill527's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Girl you are not even two months out yet and you look this good? I can't even imagine how you will look at 5months. You look amazing. -
Hello skinny, good job, keep it up. When did you have your surgery?
-
No, it's not what you think, I'm in love with my sleeve. As much as I love and want to eat carbs everyday, I cant seem to handle more than two tablespoon of pasta, rice and whatever carb I was craving for. Even fruits like banana which I use to inhale 4 big ones in a day but now, I'm always putting half of it in the fridge to eat for later. What can treat me better than my sleeve? Nothing for now. I'm in love with my sleeve (sorry hubby).

Don't know if someone started this thread already but I need advice on how to lose my thunder, ugly looking, bumpy fat thighs. I carry my weight in my thighs and it bothers me a lot. I see some big and beautiful ladies with cute looking thighs that are big but not bumpy or ugly. Anyone has an advice on what machines to use at the gym for thighs mostly?

Haveing pain every time i drink
chibabyy replied to sifford1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can't give up on drinking cos you'll become dehydrated. I used to get those pains too but they will go away. I'm almost 5 months out and I don't drink anything but water. This too shall come to pass but mention it to your doctor too. -
Post-Op, Stopped loosing weight
chibabyy replied to Big Ocean's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
None of you are doing anything wrong. It is okay or experience a stall every now and then. Some people even gain weight after surgery which is still expected but it doesn't sound like any of you did. I will be 5months post-op on Nov. 5th and have been stuck at 52lbs weight loss for a month which includes preop weight loss. It's not fun to me but I have gone from size 24 to 20 at times 18. I was surprised when an XL t-shirt fit me yesterday, but I am still fat especially my thighs. It does bother me that the scale is not moving but I know I'm doing the right things cos I see the inches coming off. Keep your head up and before long, you all will be the ones encouraging the newbies coming behind you. Don't sweat it and please stop weighing yourselves everyday. Leave the scale for your doctor and you will be amazed at what you will see happen. -
Hi all, I need your help in finding a doctor here in the United States that charges a reasonable price for the surgery. My sister wants to have the surgery but was denied by her insurance cos of low BMI and no serious health issues except for knee pain. So, she wants to pay privately for the surgery but doesn't want to go to Mexico for fear that no one will be held responsible if anything was to happen. Also, her husband is not in agreement with her going to Mexico and neither is my mom. We are in New York and she found a dr in New Jersey that will charge her about $13,000 but she wants to shop around some more to see if she can get a better deal. I also told her that I will post the question on the forum to see if anyone of you can help us.

I use to hate the fact that my weight loss is so slow compared to most people but I think that I'm loving it now because people don't suspect or question me having surgery compared to a lady I know that dropped weight so fast that people are saying that she had surgery even though she denies it. I know it's nobody's business and that people will always gossip, which is why I only told my family and my boss. Another good thing about this is that I have more energy now so I use the stairs more at work and workout more now with my residents that people see my trying to lose weight that surgery is the last thing on their mind. And of course, I tell them my secret when asked: eat your protein first, then your veggies and if still hungry, other things and exercise. I am not lying, I just don't feel like disclosing all my info. My numbers: SW: 300, CW: 250, surgery date6/5/13 (my birthday). Best decision I have ever made.

Hello Mexico sleevers, I am trying to get as more info as I can about being sleeved in Mexico. My older sister who was denied by her insurance cos of low BMI and no health issues except for knee pain is considering going to Mexico to be sleeved. She is worried about something happening and no one to be held responsible. Also, she is wondering who will follow up with her when she comes back here. Also, the amount of money it cost, can she trust anyone, who's the best surgeon back there etc. please I need as more info as I can get for my sister. She is seeing my progress and she wants the same for herself which I would love for her to have by all means. Thanks in advance.
