This is the first time I'm hearing no protein for the first week. My clear liquids for the first 2wks was mostly protein drink and everything else followed. I would even blend my protein drinks with fruits and thin it out with milk to make it more exciting. The broth and jello I had was from the hospital stay and ended once I was discharged. Hope you find more recipes/options to make you happy. This too shall pass and you will upgrade to purée. Good luck.

Hi all, I hope this is not TMI. I am only 6 weeks post-op, lost 30lbs as of 2wks but plenty of inches gone. I am loving the changes on my body but apparently so does my hubby. I don't even get a breathing space anymore. He is always chasing me around, smacking me on my behind, touching and kissing me every moment he gets and forget it if the kids are not home. Thank God we bought have a job and I am taking birth control shot, if not......... My point is that I have only lost 30lbs and he is going crazy over his wife. What will happen when I become like a lot of you that have hundreds of pounds? I guess I have to be sleeping under the bed. I love the attention but oh my!

Hi all, am I the only one who is finding it difficult to wait 30 minutes after eating to drink water? I am a person that believes that water helps the food go down easily / digest and always drink right after eating. Since the surgery, I'm really having a hard time waiting especially at work. I am very conscious of myself like making sure nothing is stuck in between my teeth so I always use a mirror but drinking the water after eating makes it easier for the food stuck in between to come out. I guess I have to re-learn all these things again.

adult content: when can I start having sex?
chibabyy replied to freakinfitfoodie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a married woman and I was not ashamed to ask my doctor such an important question. He said to go ahead and get my groove on but don't go crazy. As long as you are up to it. My doc never even mentioned anything about not having sex, it was the nurse at the hospital that told me about it. When I told my doc what the nurse said during my 2weeks post-op, my doc just rolled his eyes and gave me the go ahead. -
That reminds me of my nutritionist whom I saw for six months and every month I step into her office, she would ask me if this is my first time being here. Got to a point that she even told me her deep personal story and I figured that we are now cool cos there is no way that I will share such a story with someone and not even recall their faces. Guess what, she still didn't remember me. She had the nerve to come to my room after surgery, ask me if i saw her for 6months or another nutritionist, then she told me that I should make an appointment to see her after seeing my surgeon for 2 weeks post-op. I was in too much pain to tell her how I felt but I never and will never see her again.

Just sitting down at work eating a banana and had to throw away half of it cos I was too full. Remembering that I could finish 3 bananas in one sitting before surgery. Wow, I'm loving my baby stomach, this is how I should have been eating all this time.

Pain while drinking fluids
chibabyy replied to roundy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This stage will pass but will take a few more weeks. Something else might even come up but they will all disappear. I know cos I thought that I was going to die after surgery and it seems like every week something else pops up. I'm 6weeks out and no more pain except when I drink too much water or protein shake. Don't worry, you will start to feel better in a few weeks but no one could say exactly how long not even your doctors cos everyone is different. I called my doctors office so much that they knew my number whenever I call. Good luck. -
Hi all, I got some info that I want to share with you all but you probably already know. Someone told me that while in the process of losing weight and you discover any rash or unusual something on your skin or under the folds of the skin, do not treat it yourself. Let your PCP know so they could have a record of it that way, the insurance company might approve the excess skin removal surgery or whatever the name is.

Hello all, I got some info to share with you all but as usual, I'm probably the last person to get this info, you all probably have heard. Someone told me that while losing weight and you develop some kind of rash or any thing unusual on your skin or even under the fold of your skin, pls do not try and treat it yourself. Show it to your PCP and let them have a record of it because the insurance company might approve your excess skin removal surgery.

How to deal with family that disagree with surgery?
chibabyy replied to Doxiemom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You are doing this surgery for you and your health and this should be about you. My husband wasn't on board with this decision at first but I told him that I am doing this for my health so I can be there for him and my kids. My husband's point was that he wanted us to try and have one more baby before the surgery. Your boyfriend should understand that this is all about your health. Unless if he is scared of losing you when you start losing weight and looking fabulous. -
Sleeved on Jun 20/2013...lost & sad.
chibabyy replied to karenoconnortx's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Please don't give up and don't let this process depress you. Talk to your doctor and nutritionist and see what they say but I don't think that you are doing the wrong things. Please, I don't want to hear you say that this surgery will not work for you because it will. You will see yourself in 2-3months and would even advise the newbies about what to do. I was in a stall, I don't even know if I'm out of it cos I refused to weigh myself and to let my doctor do it. I was sleeved 6/5/13 and so far 30lbs including preop which I know I lost about 10lbs. That means that I only lost 20lbs in a month while others are pulling in 40-50. It's depressing but hang in there, do the best you can. -
You look amazing. Hope to look close to that in a month. Keep up the good work

Overweight - no longer obese!
chibabyy replied to Indigo1991's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats and good luck. -
Hello all, I'm a month post op and refused to weigh myself after a few weeks stall and now, I am letting the doctors office tell me my weight cos I get frustrated when the scale is still while I'm pushing myself so hard to exercise. Anyway, I wanted to know from those that were before me if I will loose my boobs as I'm losing weight? My hubby is worried that I will lose all the weight and my boobs will be the only things that people will notice fast. Maybe I might need a breast reduction. I am a big woman and so are my boobs but if I loose the weight and not my boobs then I will be shapeless. I don't think that I will like the sight of that.

Hello all, I'm getting ready for work but I had to ask you all a question: did everyone start exercising right after they got back home or did you wait to lose a significant amount of weight before exercise. I'm asking because I'm walking during lunch and on my way home but my weight loss is slow(no complaint cos I couldn't have lost that on my own). But I know someone that dropped 50lbs before they started their exercise. Should I sign up at the gym or what? I'm just doing it the simple and cheaper way: walking.

Any body got sleeved on their birthday?
chibabyy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I was given a date to be sleeved in may 2013, I told them that it was impossible cos my coworker was on vacation that week. My dept is small and 2 people cannot be on vacation at the same time cos of coverage. The office manager just gave me the calendar and told me to pick a date suitable for me. I tried to avoid being sleeved on my birthday which is June 5th but on second thought, I told myself that this will be the best birthday present that I can give myself. Moreover, I will never forget that date. Yes, I spent my birthday under the knife but not cutting the cake. -
birth control after sleeve?
chibabyy replied to lankymom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am on depo shot every 3 months and have been way before surgery and its been my savior. One of the side effect is weight gain but for some reason, I have not gained a pound since I have been on it but I know someone that has gained weight while on it. I had my baby 7/10/12 and was given the shot before I was discharged 3days later. -

if I read about another stall Imma pull my hair out!
chibabyy replied to allthatjazz4u's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do understand your point about been annoyed at people posting about about stalls but you have to understand too where the new beginners are coming from too. It's one thing if you experience a stall after losing 100lbs and another when you experience it after losing 10lbs. It's scary, you feel like you are doing something wrong and that everyone will have a success story but you. You start to think that may be the surgeon cut 25% of your stomach instead of 80 and so on. I am new and have experienced a stall and I'm in one now and I thought about all these things but my solution is to stop weighing myself and let the doctor do it at least for now. You were once a beginner and I don't think we all had the answers in the beginning. May be you did have the answers but not everyone does. I do a lot of research but I still like to hear other people's comments and experiences. I just think you were a little to harsh even though you didn't mean to be. Thanks -
Hello all, I had my surgery on June 5th and the weight I have lost so far is mostly from my pre-op diet and I have been stuck on only 10lbs weight loss since surgery. I am still on purée, I am barely hungry but I make sure I take my Protein drink if not, I will feel like something is missing. I have been walking about 10 mins from train to work, 15mins during lunch time and 20mins to the train station. Am I not doing enough? I actually do not have the energy but I just push myself cos I know I will see results eventually. Why is it taking so long? Almost a month and only 10lbs? I know someone that did not exercise until they got to a 50lb weight loss. Why is mine different? By the way, I was so upset that I decided to be getting my weights at my surgeon's office instead of home so I have not weighed myself in a wk but I don't think it's going to make a difference. I will see my doc next Friday and I hope and pray that something will change.
