I stopped counting calories, is that bad?
indecision replied to Hellbent's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I counted my protein for the first 4 weeks after surgery. After that I stopped and have not looked back. I learned how to listen to my body. When I feel like I need to eat I do so. Do I ever over eat? Yep. That being said this is what has worked for ME. I have been able to maintain the same weight now for over 2 months and I am happy where I am at. If i lose a few more no biggie. As long as I do not gain I am good. -
Surgery was April of 2013. To date I have had zero carbonation. Soda was never really a big thing for me. Beer on the other hand I still miss....

What fitness related EVENT are you training/preparing for?
indecision replied to catfish87's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Sunday I will be doing my longest duathlon so far. 5K run 30K bike and another 5K run. Did my last push of training this morning. I know I will likely be the slowest but I know I will finish! -
Question...what has been the hardest thing to deal with post op?
indecision replied to swtpea637's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The hardest for me has been actually seeing myself as "thin". I still don't see it most days. If I ever here what someone weighs I think to myself wait I weigh x pounds less than they do but they look so much thinner. I guess I still see myself as being big.... Its crazy. -
Congrats! Biking is so much fun and as others have said very relaxing yet great workout too!

"When I finally lose the weight I am excited to...."
indecision replied to V.V.V.'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The pain directly after waking up from the surgery was the worst of it for me. It was the build up of the gas and such. It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest and shoulders. Other than that I would say the pain was nominal. I do not know if I will ever feel normal. I do not feel as skinny as I am. I know this is in the head but I still feel like Im a big dude.. -

And the cool thing is all of these things WILL happen for all of you as long as you stick to the program! Life on the other side is rather amazing! I wish you all much success! -

Great thread! I never really cared much about heart rate and tracking until recently and in fact just ordered a TomTom Multisport Cardio GPS watch today. I look forward to trying it out as well as stepping up the game on my training and such! Hopefully in a few weeks I will be able to add some real value to this thread with my own personal findings.

What's the timeline for eating some of these typical foods?
indecision replied to hrhlaurie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would likely have to off myself if I could not eat flour tortillas.... Ugh -
42 grams of protein in 3.8 oz
indecision replied to MFoster9812's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used these early on often. 1 thing I found though is you DO NOT want to drink them all in 1 sitting. Space it out over time. If I drank it all in 1 sitting they gave me the shitz. -
What month did you first try carbonated drinks?
indecision replied to Unhappysleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums

Why does the sleeve fail?
indecision replied to GottaDoSomethin''s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What WLS does is help you by having restriction and not having the hunger you once had. All of those other diets work as well. No matter what you choose whether it be WLS or something like Weight Watchers you have to be ready for a life change. WLS helps keep you on the path because of the restriction. That being said you CAN get around it. So unless your ready to actually make a life change then YOU will fail not the sleeve. -

WOW... Not much more to say than that. You look amazing! -
I started at about 6 months out. I also started with an app like the C25K but was the 10K version. It helped me get started but I abandoned the app eventually and just went running.

The plan I got from my doc said none ever. This is the one area that I didn't listen. I have had drinks since about 6 weeks out. I am a casual drinker so only drink once maybe twice a week. I have had no ill effects and lost plenty of weight along the way. Last week I did a little experiment and drank every single day. By Sunday I had gained 6 pounds...Ooops. Those 6 pounds were gone by Wednesday. I wont be doing that again anytime soon but it was a fun week... LOL
