    Does anybody drink alcohol?

I think all of the usual side effects apply. You know the ones like passing out in random places. Or waking up in bed with some random person. You could end up in a fight or possibly even worse in jail. Of course these all depend on what type of party we are looking at here. On a serious note the only issue I have had is a very low tolerance. Which honestly is not a big deal. It makes me a really cheap date..

    Dating

You could always try the online thing. Or maybe join some local groups that interest you. For example if you like to run there are tons of running groups where you meet lots of new folks. There are many groups for many different interests out there. Just have to be comfortable with putting yourself out there more and it will happen! Good luck to you!
  5. Almost 11 months out and no carbonation for me. I was never a huge soda drinker anyway. However I want a beer like mad but I am staying away...

    Guy's any regrets?

I have become more active after losing the weight. I can tell you without a doubt I have been able to be active all day and never feel any ill effects because of it. For example yesterday I had the day off so I went on an 8 plus mile trail ride on my mountain bike, went home and started doing yard work for about 2 hours, then unloaded a truck bed full of dirt. That was 2 and half hours of shoveling the using a wheel barrel to haul it from one side of the house to the next. So yes you can still be active. My only regret is not doing this sooner...

    Drinking while eating

I just don't think it works that way. I am just over 10 months out and I have drank while I eat the entire time. For example I am eating granola with greek yogurt while drinking coffee as I type this. If it just washed the food away by doing so I am pretty sure I would not be alive right now. It is OK to cheat some as long as you can handle it. For some it is a slippery slope to doing it every day.

  11. Wait did someone say something about alcohol? I'm in!
  12. One thing I can see that could possibly be an issue. Your lunch was 8 oz of rice and turkey. First thing I am a little over 10 months out and I in no way can eat 8 oz of anything let alone something with rice. Try sticking to the Protein first then veggies then fruits then carbs. This may help. When I make a meal that "may" contain some carbs like rice I will have 3 maybe 4 ounces of protein a few veggies and a couple table spoons of rice or Pasta. I rarely eat rice or pasta whether its brown or not. Maybe try eating ALL of the turkey first and if you are still actually hungry and not head hungry then eat some rice. I am like you I eat pizza once in a while. I eat Cookies sometimes and hell I even drink wine or liquor a couple times a week so I DO indulge. That being said 90% of the time I am good and stick to the protein first rule. This will fill you up faster by doing this. Just my thoughts.

  15. Trail riding on my mountain bike is my favorite me time thing to do! I had not owned a bike in over 10 years but after losing the weight I decided I needed something for me to do with this energy!
  16. Everyone loses at a different rate so it is hard to compare numbers of other people to yourself. At 3 months I had lost 104. I started at 362 at surgery. I am now 10 months out and have lost 144 since surgery. I lost the majority of my weight in the first 3 months.
  17. You look great! Congrats! Keep up the hard work.

    Alcohol...

I had my first drink at about 8 weeks out and that was wine. I was pretty damn drunk just off of one glass. Before surgery I considered myself to be a professional drinking and could put some drinks down. Now If I do 2 drinks I am pretty well drunk. If I try to go past 2 drinks I will be passed out rather quickly so I avoid going more than 2. I have regularly had wine or liquor a couple times a week through my journey so far and I believe I have done a decent job with my weight lost despite having some empty calories in my diet.....

    350+pounds

We have the same starting weight! I was 362 on April 3 2013 day of surgery. Today I am 218 so 144 down. My highest ever was 418 though and that puts me at 200 down from that as of today!!!

She didn't recognize the old me

Mine knows how to "work" the system already as well and she is 3. Its crazy how quickly they pick up on how to push our buttons.

Very true that fish would look even bigger! ha! It really has made me happy that she will never really know that part of me!
