I really started to see my energy level rise after about 3 months. Then at 6 months it went up a notch. At 6 months is when I really started to work out. Now that I am 12 months out my energy level is even more which I think has more to do with the working out at this point. So I would say it is a gradual increase over the 12 month period for sure.

Wow you look amazing! Congrats on your success. -
@@justabill so far my furthest is 18 miles and this weekend I am bumping to 25 miles. So I am slowly getting to long distance riding. I have only worried with hydration up until now but know I need to start researching nutrition at this point as I keep bumping the miles. So really I am in the same boat of needing to figure this out. That is awesome you have done a half IM. I don't think I will ever try one of those to be honest. I am going to mostly keep with the riding and some running. My knees are wrecked from years of football and carrying the weight I carried so they would probably never allow for great distances running.

Thanks! The energy is unreal. I can do so many more things now that I could not do before.

I do not seem to be typical when it comes to this topic. For the first 10 months I did not go a week without at least losing a pound. Early on it was huge amounts and just tapered from there. After 10 months I have gone through weeks where I do not lose anything. I attribute this to the amount of time I am working out now as opposed to the earlier months. I am doing more weight training as well as long distance bike riding. It was nice to not experience the stalls like I have read on others because it helped keep me motivated. I am also one that weighs a few times a day to help keep myself in check.

I really do like Dr Nick. I just felt very comfortable with him so that is why I went with him. I am sure Dr Kim is equally the same in that regard. My only regret is not doing it sooner and I have not had any troubles. If I wanted to say I did it would only be the trouble with the mind adjusting to the new me. It is still playing catch up at times. Other than that it has been an awesome journey! My energy level is through the roof these days! And thank you on the congrats!

That is really awesome! Congrats to you on this accomplishment!!

I have not tried it in a protein shake but I bet it would be good. I have been eating frozen yogurt YES the kind with "how dare I" sugar since about 2 months out. Some of them have a fair amount of protein in them and is a better choice than ice cream.....

Help! Ive gained 10 lbs from goal. :(
indecision replied to amytug's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think when it comes to maintaining exercise is the key. Do you have someone you can work out with that will help keep you on track? The way I do it is I am setting a goal for myself like running a 10K or a duathlon and driving my focus towards that goal. It is easy to get in a rut and really hard to pull out of it sometimes so I understand. That being said you have done extremely well with your weight loss so don't beat yourself up too much. -

Rate of Loss. 6 Month Weight Loss Metrics For Info/Comparison
indecision replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wish I would have kept records like that. Starting weight 362 and I am 6'3' At 6 months I had lost 112 #'s and April 3rd will be 1 year for me and I am at 153 #'s lost now. I can let you know the exact 1 year mark loss when it gets here. "normal" weight for me according to BMI Calc is 199 so assuming that is correct I have lost 93.86% of my excess weight. With 10 pounds to go. -

You look awesome! Congrats on a successful first year! -
If you told me a year ago I was going to get into bike riding I would have laughed at you. I really enjoy it plus it is such a good workout! Thanks everyone!

So as of stepping on the scale yesterday I am now half the man I use to be.. Literally... I was at one point in my life at 418 pounds. Just before surgery I was at 362. Yesterday I weighed in at 209 so 153 pounds gone since surgery and 209 overall. Talk about feeling like an entirely different person! I am still loosing weight at this point at a rate of 1 to 2 pounds per week. April 3rd will be my 1 year since surgery and this has been one crazy ride! I decided to Celebrate this milestone and picked up a new road bike yesterday. Who would have thought I would be riding one of those bikes with the skinny tires or riding a bike at all.... Not me thats for sure!!

Yes I did. I really like Dr Nick. I have had nothing but positive dealings with him and his staff!

Without question. So far no complications whatsoever...

Thanks!

Weight will stop redue after six months ? Is that true
indecision replied to jack35's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
The weight does come off slower after the first six months without question. That being said if you continue the good habits you learned the first 6 months you will likely still lose. Next month is my 1 year and I am still losing but is more at a pace of 1 to 2 pounds per week and some weeks none at all. -
@@wholenewlife in ever thought in a million years I would get anywhere close to onderland.. Congrats to you on your 1 year success as well!! @@Fiddleman your right eating all the time is not so bad it just seems odd to me at times when I am losing weight but eating like there is no tomorrow. Don't get me wrong I know my body needs the fuel right now so I think I will get over it!!

Thing is I am not trying to lose anymore but it keeps coming off so I am not fighting it for now. I'm working out so much these days that I feel like I am constantly eating...
