There are some games that are very low key, and the yoga deep breathing wouldn't hurt anyone. I sure wouldn't try the hula hoop, or the ski jumping. you'll love it when you can finally do all the things, it's really fun, and four days isn't too terribly long to be able to do all of them (or most).

I don't like the yoga stuff as much as I do the balance games. I like the hula hoop and the stepping a lot too. I think it was well worth the money, it's fun and effective. My hubby missed a day, and it chided him, and I laughed like crazy. everyone should get one, they're great. made me laugh..where else would you spend the money to have this cutesy little thing tell you not only are you fat but you're unbalanced too! the mii getting round had me howling with laughter.

Should Pets be more than Property?
debruny replied to Tired_Old_Man's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My 3 dogs are doing great on this food, and I'm finally convinced that what I'm feeding them (non-homemade) is safe and actually good for them. All 3 like it, and eat it readily. Read the company's website, it offers a lot of information about not only the food itself, but the philosophy of the company, and how carefully they choose suppliers. -
For the first time someone outside of my immediate family noticed the weight loss, and asked me how. I said I had talked to my doctor, (true) went to a local hospital that has an obesity sort of clinic (also true) and that the new way to eat is teeny tiny bites, making the meal last 20-30 minutes (true again) and that I even use a smaller plate and fork to make sure the bites are small (all true!) I mentioned I put the fork down between bites etc etc etc. Everything is true, and she sees me walking the dogs in the evening now since she lives next door, but I am not telling about the surgery. It's no one's business but mine. Even my mother doesn't know about it, she was told the same things I told the neighbor. She lives 4 hours away, so she hasn't seen me, but I'm preparing everyone for the difference in eating habits by telling them the exact thing I told my neighbor. yeah, there are lies by omission, but I really don't think not telling about surgery is lying. To each their own though, everyone must do what is right for them

Should Pets be more than Property?
debruny replied to Tired_Old_Man's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
After the pet food recall, I became very picky about what our 3 dogs ate. I cooked for them for quite awhile (lots of work!!) and searched for something I felt was safe. The pet food companies can say only one type was involved or whatever..but if its made on one of their lines, I don't trust the food. (very similar to peanuts involved in a product line, anything else made on that line isn't safe for those with peanut allergies) No companies that are saying their foods are now safe are promising that they are not importing grain protein from China any longer. They just want us to blindly assume they are telling the truth. I no longer trust them. Anyway, this all led to a lot of searching for something safe, and I've found a dry food that is safe, and the dogs like it. I won't get into all of it, you can read it for yourself if you're interested. Pet Promise; no byproducts, no meat meal or chicken meal; Pure & natural nutrition for your pet -
omg muchhh easier than c-sections.

Does anyone regret being banded?
debruny replied to kero's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
no regrets at all, quite the opposite! -
I only drink out of a straw, even at home..no problems for me.
-
I went in for my first fill and he couldn't find it..so off to the hospital the next day..and the thing had flipped to an angle, so he has to have me lie on my side and approach from an angle. hopefully it doesn't cause any problems being angled.

debruny replied to vbaum's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have the left shoulder pain too..not on top, but in that flat area between shoulder and chest. It's not daily, and seems worse if I drink a lot (I'm diabetic and always thirsty) -

Seeing old friends but waiting to lose weight
debruny replied to fatandoverit's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know exactlyyy what you mean, and it's holding true for relatives I don't see often too. Everything I'm planning is 6 months or more down the road, and I'm hoping that I'll have lost enough not to want to hide from them. -
Migraines get Better after Surgery ?
debruny replied to coltonwade's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've had bad migraines for the last 11 years or so, I'm talking they last for a couple weeks with no let up, and I have them 2 out of 4 weeks or more. I had the LB surgery and haven't had a full blown migraine since. No idea about the reason, but I thank God for the relief. -
so far spicy doesn't bother me, I've had jalapenos no problem.
-
take one with you to the doc's office, and let him see it, and ask his opinion. I asked my doc about fish oil pills (which are sort of large capsule types) and he said I could swallow those as capsules melt rather fast. Perhaps your doc will agree. I've not had any problem with them.

Alli - this is from their website. Really.
debruny replied to Alex R.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I took Xenical, and it's a great drug, primarily a behavior modification tool, and I lost 65 lbs in about 8-9 months. Ended up having two fairly major health issues, which kept me from being able to move around, and of course, with no exercise I gained the weight back, and here I am. As far as the drug, it's a very useful tool, not a miracle drug. It's much like a band- it is as good as the person using it permits it to be. (and yes you can eat some fat, just not tons of it- if you watch the amount you never have the "oily discharge", but screw up..and EWWWWWWWWWW. -
New Here and protein shake help needed
debruny replied to thisisforme's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I used a meal replacement with the protein powder, and added some sugar=free jello to it to vary the flavor, and keep me from being bored to tears. works great...orange seems to be the best. -

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum, I'm 48, from Michigan. Had my lapband surgery on May 30th. Looking forward to sharing/learning together Deb
-
not far at all, maybe we can get together sometime (and anyone else that would want to)
-
hi Sara, which area of Michigan are you from? I'm in Commerce Township
-
I'm in Walled Lake/Commerce Township. I haven't had any problems with food so far, I did the Protein shakes, liquids, and mushy foods, and have progressed to some solid type foods, even had some chicken, though it was very very thin, and fell apart with a fork. Didn't have a lot of it, just a few bites, and all went well. I still can't eat much at once or I have extremely bad shoulder pain, and that is enough to keep me from even wanting much. I don't mind the Meal Replacement shakes, but I am sick of the Protein powder already. ( I hate the taste of it) I have an apt with the surgeon next Monday, will try to keep you posted on that. Feel free to pm me.
