April sleevers in mexico
patva replied to kledislynn's mommy's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
COS-- you are I great hands with Dr Kelly. I have had a great experience with Dr Kelly and NOVA hospital. The hospital look older , but the care is exceptional. Better than any care I received in the states . I have had good results and no complications. Dr Kelly is a highly qualified surgeon, based on his background is why I chose him. I am a physician and wanted to make sure I was going to someone who has the surgical background for any and all complications. He and his team are the most caring people I have encountered in health care. -
Well known vs. unknown Dr.'s in Mexico
patva replied to Speeder's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I went with Dr. Ramos-Kelly. I did my research and he had the best qualifications. I am a surgeon myself and didn't care who was most popular but who had the most experience and better surgical background. -
Holiday/vacation In Vegas
patva replied to SuperKen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just left from Vegas. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. At the buffets, I chose the meats first, and then ate vegetables. I just had a spoonful of desert. Even at a burger place. In took the meat off and ate that. The only issue I had was not drinking so close to eating, and if course the drinking alcohol. I realized that I am now that I can only drink 1 1/2 glasses of wine . -
Enell works very well. No underwires.

Which Surgeons Are Most Recommend?
patva replied to MadlyCap's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I also had my surgery be Dr Ramos Kelky , and had an excellent experience. Would recommend him 110% -
I used Dr Ramos Kelly. I would recommend him highly. I am a surgeon in Virginia and when I wanted to speak to the surgeons to get into , d Ramos was the most accessible and answered any and all of my questions. He actually has more experience with the most difficult cases. Which any surgeon will tell you is the best way to choose a surgeon.

I was sleeved at Nova in July. At first the appearance may throw you off. But it is an excellent hospital. I am a surgeon , and I was very impressed by the care I received there. The rooms are ncdcsized and the hospital is ginean. You are attended to by a full team, including a physician 24 hrs. The nursing staff if very attentive. I would recommend Nova highly.

extra fees after surgery at Nova Hospital in Tijuana?
patva replied to waterlady's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I can say that I was told upfront that there is a possibility of additional charges. I had multiple surgeries and was concerned about an additional fee. I was not charged an additional fee. As a surgeon I know all to well how you may go into surgery planning on things to be straight forward only to find out its a mess inside. You don't ignore a problem or cut corner to save time and charges. As a responsible surgeon you do everything you can, but you have to charge for additional resources used. Rather than not recommend him maybe you should be thankful, he did a thourough and complete job. -

Post op day 2, liquids hurt my sleeve!
patva replied to Thinner1Day's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Hello Thinner, I am post op day 6. I am on clear liquids. I, too , had that sensation of pain, fluid getting stuck, and cramping when I sipped on fluids. It is normal. Just take small sips, take time between sips, and take deep breathe in and out if it feels like fluid is stuck and won't move. -

Dr Kelly is an excellent doctor. I was impressed with my expierence with the Nova hospital. My best advice is to research your decision and speak to actual pt -
For everyone going to Dr. Ramos Kelly, you will be very impressed with his care , the hospital and the nursing staff. The people here really do care. I Am a surgeon I the US , and can genuinely say I have seen and re diced better care here than in the States. You are in great hands. Thanks Jpwill, the gas pain does go away. The walking, Gas x , and heating pad for me through that rough period.
