Had my surgery 8/14/13 and was 248. I weighed yesterday and I was 197.2! I was stuck at 206 through the holidays (didn't eat as well as I should have). As soon as I got back on plan the weight started falling off again. I'm down from a tight size 18 to a loose 14 in pants and from a 2x to an xl top (I'm a little busty). I'm so happy, feel great physically, and feel sexy again. You can do it people!

No waitress! There is nothing wrong with my meal..i just have a small stomach!

That's what I say too. "Everything was great! I just have a small stomach and I'm stuffed." That's all the explanation they need. -
You can still nurse while on pain meds. I was on pain meds after c section and nursed.

Good luck!!!

My sleeve does this too!!

Hospitals that will not perform surgery with certain mental health diagnoses
wasabi replied to MAchick's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am bipolar and got approved no problem at two hospitals. That is a really stupid policy. If BP people are stable, they're just like anyone else!! -
Overall it was really no big deal. I've had 2 c-sections so the pain wasn't comparable. The sleeve pain was nothing really. I stopped taking the narcotic pain relievers after 4 days. Just take it easy and slow for a couple weeks right after.

Where in NC are you? I'm in Apex. I had Dr. Enochs and gave had absolutely zero problems. I was sleeved six weeks ago. I'm down 28 lbs and loving it!!

So, I consider myself fairly tolerant of stupid people (or I mask it well), but...

It just goes to show you that Americans are losing sight of what good portions are. Yes ours are less than normal, but not THAT much less that what it should be. -
My doctor does the length based on BMI and health history. For instance I was only 2 weeks because I had no health issues, but someone with a BMI of 50 something might have 4 weeks.

Hope you get help quick. So glad to know that you know the signs!

This is what makes me angry. Abilify is a lifesaver for me. I cannot imagine not having the insurance to pay for it. I hope you can find a way.

I was very worried about things changing after surgery but they haven't for me! So glad for that. I'd definitely get in touch with your psych. Doesn't sound good.

It feels like I delivered a baby through my abdomen.
wasabi replied to endless80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I assure you that you don't feel like you had a baby. Try a c-section where that scar is about 10 times bigger. Congrats on your stomach baby. I was still achy there for up to a couple weeks. The knife pain was for about a week and a half. They told me that they had to cut through or move (can't remember which) you muscle wall there so it would be sore for the longest. -
But damn I didn't know how much it SUCKS! I'm only 3 weeks out. I lost 10 my first week, 2 my second week and none this week. I only weigh in on Wednesdays. I'm trying really hard to stay positive. I'm scared that this isn't going to work for me, or that I'm going to be a slow loser. How can I lose 85% of my stomach and eat nothing but puréed food, yogurt and liquids and not lose weight. I feel like the whole "your body is in starvation mode" or "new muscle weighs more than fat" is one of those things I used to tell myself in my old dieting days to make myself feel better. I'm also on my period so I've been using the "I must have water weight" theory too. But at 800-1000 calories/day how can this be? So frustrated.

I had heard about the third week stall
wasabi replied to wasabi's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Okay I just looked at my calories and its been 500-800/day. I only hit 1000 calories twice. -
I got a notification from paperback swap that one of the diet books on my wish list was available. Guess I don't need that now!!
-
I'm 3 weeks out and I just want something that I have to chew! I did two weeks pre op liquids, 2 week post op liquids, and 1 of two weeks of puréed food. I know, this week will fly by. I'm just impatient at this point!!
-
Yup just went to my post op appt yesterday. I'm down 20 lbs from my pre op diet to now. I lost 12 of those after my sleeve. I had Dr. Enochs as well. I haven't been to a support group yet my my friend and I are planning to go to the one at Rex next month. The schedule is on the practice's website. So cool to meet someone with the same doctor and a week apart in the same area! I live in Apex, so it was so convenient too!!

Crab cakes as sliders?
wasabi replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope not! Super yummy!! But maybe you just THOUGHT you could eat another one ya know? My doc said not to eat more than a 1/4 cup at a time. -
Just went to my doc for my two week follow up today and he says to start walking. Not aerobics or anything but whatever I can do without using my core too much.
