How long does it take for gas/air in the stomach to go away?

I hope you feel better and continue to walk as much as you can tolerate. -

Try gas x strips or chewables, I also sipped on warm decaf tea with splenda and that seem to help. Yes you can sleep on your side. That is the only way I can sleep since the surgery. -
I agree..since my surgery life for everyone else has continued. I eat meals with my family, I sip my broth, shake, etc. If I want to be successful at this I have to adapt not the world adapt to me..so stay focus and remember you''re not alone.

Remember everyone I know we are all dying to taste some real food but please do your best to follow your doctors instructions. I keep telling myself I am stronger than the food that I have consumed all these years that helped me blossom to 303 pds. Mind over matter..We are stronger than the food we put into our mouths. Take a walk, read a book, watch a movie, drink a few sips of your favorite protein shake (we can never get enough of those good ole protein drinks) or just take a nap. Be strong

You did the right thing by getting her to the doctor asap. You being their with her I'm sure is exactly what she needs right now. Just remember to take care of yourself also. Prayers for you and your mom. -
Since my surgery on the 18th I can't sleep on my back unless I am propped up on 3 pillows. I feel like I can't breathe. So I must sleep on my side and in my sleep I end up turning over on my stomach which is very uncomfortable and I end up waking up. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Ellajo I had my sleeve done by Dr. Treen at West Jeff Medical Center. Dr. Richardson removed my gallbladder..he's an awesome surgeon. Very nice bedside manner.

What am I doing to myself?

We fall but we get back up again..dust yourself off, dry your tears, and just know tomorrow you won't make the same mistake because you are stronger than that. Next pinpoint what was your trigger that made you feel like you had to have the nuggets and potatoes. Then find something to replace that with maybe a walk, a good book, music, etc. Don't let this one slip determine your future. Be blessed -
I have had 2 c sections, gallbladder removed, and now the bag..worst pain by far was the 2 nd c section..gallbladder was not reall painful but I was sore for 8 days because the went in through my bellybutton...vsg minimal pain the first day right after surgery by that night the pain was almost gone and the nausea was kicking butt but the great staff I had was definitely on top of their game and kept the nausea under control. By the way I don't have a high pain tolerance either. I'm actually a big baby when it comes to tolerating pain. So you should be okay. Just dontbe afraid to ring that bell and ask for pain meds before the pain gets bad. You want to keep it under control. And as soon as you can get out the bed and get to moving around.

Surgery tomorrow June 18!
shelly22 replied to takingbackcontrol's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi..I was sleeved on the 18th also. I was discharged yesterday on the 19th. Overall I did quite well. I couldn't keep anything down the day of my surgery. Every time I sipped on anything it would come back up. Yesterday was better nauseated but no vomiting. Hopefully today will be better. -
Congrats you look amazing!
