Hello Everyone, Last week I was at 216.1 and today I'm at 214.7, which is a loss of 1.4 lbs. I wish it was more, but something is better then nothing. I'm doing everything I'm supposed to. I think my body is still adjusting to going to the gym. Next week will be better!!!

I used containers that weren't clear for a while. That way people couldn't see how much (or little) I was eating. Also if you eat slowly and chew thoroughly most people don't notice the amount you eat, because you're still eating for the same amount of time... I too was worried my colleagues would notice. The only thing that they noticed was when I was eating hot Soup in the middle of the summer for several weeks :-). We have a non-air-conditioned building so they thought I was crazy!

I LOVE these! I can only find them at target though. They have plain, peach, and dill. Plain is awesome! Peach is not very good in my opinion. I have not tried dill yet though for some reason. Fabulous to have on hand for those days when you are really low on Protein :-)

I switch off using cocoa butter and the Nivea 10. I use it every morning and night all over. It seems to be helping. I still have some loose skin, but after 100lbs, with 80 being in the last 5 months, I think my skin is holding up pretty good... No matter what, I expected to have some loose skin :-(

I have no advice, but can tell you that you are not alone. I've been on the pill for years with very regular periods. Since surgery 5 months ago, I've had my 7 times and twice lasting way too long (10 and 12 days). It has been getting better the further out I get. Since everything else is fine, I just planed to ask the dr at my 6 month in a few weeks.

Hello Everyone, I just wanted to share that I have finally joined a gym! I actually joined on Saturday and have gone everyday. I am determined to make it a habit and not just another card in my wallet. I had my intro to the equipment this morning. I told the trainer about my wls being 5 months ago. It was kind of funny because then he automatically assumed that I was not active... He recommended that I start with 15 mins of cardio and said its ok if I have to split it into two 7 1/2 minute segments with a break in between, eventually working up to 30 minutes increasing the intensity. I can do already do 30 mins. I've always been active, just not as fast or intense... Anyways, I did my 30 mins of cardio and the weight machines he showed me. I am excited to open my eyes to the new world that is the gym!

The only thing I don't LOVE about my sleeve...
snochick2005 replied to LipstickLady's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It won't let me edit it. I've been cold since my surgery in July. My current coldness is not just due to our outside temps, but it is making it that much worse! -

I also feel your pain / coldness! Right now in Minnesota it's ridiculously cold. I had to take my poor dogs out 3 times this morning so they can get their business done with the windchill at -50! My friend recommended an electric blanket because I just cannot get warm. I'm currently wearing flannel pjs, socks, slippers, 3, blankets, and the house is set to 74. I really need an electric blanket!! -
Thanks you!!

A lot of insurance companies will reimburse part of the monthly fees if you go a certain number of times a month. My insurance, Health Partners, will reimburse $20 if I go 12 times a month. That brings my membership to the Y down to $45 a month and a lot more motivation to get my butt to the gym!

You could try fruit infused Water. It's not the same but it will give you the essences of fruit while helping you get to your water goals :-) there are tons of different flavor combinations you can try or just make it up. Right now I'm drinking orange raspberry and it's sooooo good! Also everyone's diets are different. I had unsweetened apple sauce as part of my purred staged and we could have softer fruits (without seeds!) during soft foods.

I'm right there with you! My current weight is 218.2 and my goal for Valentines day is 199.9. This is my first challenge, so I really want to achieve my goal. Since I'm so close I can't not go for onederland.

There's tons of them. One I'm looking at is called "a huge list of Protein drink recipes" Hope you find the one your looking for :-) -
I'd like to join too. I've never done a challenge before. Sounds like a great opportunity to hit the ground running in 2014 :-)

When Does The Fatigue Go Away?!
snochick2005 replied to AshleyBrookeRN's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It does get better!!! There were some days a few weeks out where I would get home from work and sleep until the next day. Finding you right balance with calories and Protein helps a ton! In the beginning, it's hard to get enough calories in during the day. My NUT increased my protein count when I complained of exhaustion which helped. Vitamin B also helps a ton! My NUT told me I need it once a week, but I can take it more often if I'm feeling tired. Hang in there! It takes time, but your energy level will come back :-) -
Got A Little Cocky With My Sleeve Today
snochick2005 replied to Bombs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find that there are some food that are good at the first time, but get too dry or something when reheated. I take a bite or two of it reheated and I can tell it's going to cause problems. That's happened to me several times and I ended up giving the rest of my leftovers to my boyfriend. -
How dangerous is vomiting?
snochick2005 replied to Rena's got this's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I was in the hospital after my surgery, one of my nurses had also been sleeved. She said she spent her first 3 days vomiting and everything for her was fine. She said that wasn't common but it happens to some people who don't react well to pain meds. That being said, I had a lot of nausea with the surgery. However the anti-nausea meds and walking kept me from vomiting. I dry heaved a few times which hurt... I never actually vomited though until I was about 4 weeks out and certain soft foods did not agree with my tummy. The thought scared me too, but knowing that my nurse had been vomiting right away after surgery seemed to make it not as scary and more normal. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Just putting it out there, so 'dirty' little secrets may see the light of day!

Last night, I had 3 rum and diets... With a straw! I stirred them so it was fairly flat, but da*m it was been a rough week at school. Kids were naughty little boogers! My colleagues and I needed to let off some steam. I was just going to have one, but... OPPS!! At least no appetizers were included :-) Sent from my iPhone using VST -
When is a goal too excessive?
snochick2005 replied to Fit2btied's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
There is a method of determine whether you are big boned. Most drs measure using your fingers around your wrist. Here is a website that actually gives you the inches http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/imagepages/17182.htm Personally, I'm actually am big boned, its not just a fat excuse. When I was skinny, at 5'8.5, I was at the top of my healthy weight range (165-170), wearing a size 6/8, and looking very healthy. Because of my hips/bone structure, I don't think it would be healthy for me to be much less then that. Everyone is different!! Sent from my iPhone using VST -
HELP---Having doubts---pre op
snochick2005 replied to ArnoldS's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Everyone is scared. I kept having this dream that they would wheel me into the OR and I would change my mind. My surgery day came and when they wheeled me in, I didn't change my mind. Personally, it has been the best decision I could have made. Seven weeks later, 30 lbs lighter, my knees no longer kill me ever time I stand up. I'm actually seeing a light at the end of my long weight loss tunnel! I still have a ways to go and I know that it's not always going to be easy, but finally being able to say that I'm not morbidly obese after only this short among of time has been worth it. Remember the sleeve is a tool. If you want to gain weight back there certainly are ways to do it. Obviously for health reasons its not recommended! You will always have choices. July 30th is the day! Who is with me?
snochick2005 replied to Dawnyellow's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Another suggestion I've heard for stalls is to make sure you mix up your diet. Don't eat the same things everyday because your metabolism can get used to it... Thats what I have started trying to do anyways and I had a change in the scale this morning :-) fingers crossed it keeps moving! Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Hello :-) July 30th and I hit 51 lbs total today, 30 since day of surgery.
